Well, that sequel to the Pelosi Plane attack crashed and burned at take off.

After the Pelosi plane nonsense:

The Republicans thought they had another fake issue to pass around:

Well piracy is indeed a serious charge! Only problem is that many that get their news on the web should already notice how brainless this latest attack was:

Memo to the Republicans in the Study Committee:

You are supposed to show voters that they should have a reason to vote for you, showing everybody that a Republican committee like yours is wasting time when there are more serious matters at hand is beyond stupid.

Their desperation is incredible. Are these grownups or 5 year-olds?

So, you’re blaming the GOP Congresscritters because their spin machine isn’t doing their job?

-Joe

Context, context. Spin is to be expected indeed, that is normal, the problem here is that lately their spin is painfully irrelevant to the matters at hand. Even if Republican or Democrat, I’m willing to put any politician’s feet in the fire if they, on top of being partisan, are also pressing for stupid points.

Any remaining sympathy I ever had for the Republican Party has pretty much vanished like the morning dew. I hope they keep doing things like this, not only for the entertainment value, but because eventually it will sink through even the thickest skulls that these people are the most base, vile, criminal group to ever seize the reins of power in this country, and that they all should be horse-whipped and driven into the desert to perish.

Much as I enjoy bashing republicans, and I do, this seems like a nonissue, particularly as they actually asked a spokesperson for CSPAN who gave them an incorrect answer, and then they apologized when they got the correct answer from CSPAN. The key question for me is whether this issue continues to be floated around and brought up by right wing bloggers, Fox, etc… as in “…after the controversies surrounding Pelosi’s plane and copyright questions concerning material on her blog…”. Anyone who does THAT is scum. As is, this seems like pretty small potatoes.

I wonder how many GoP Bloggers were using similar material at the time the press release was issued?

You are close on the mark, but after thinking a little bit about it, what it showed to me is the standard a “Republican Study Committee” has to base their releases: use one source only. I guess the basics of research is something they are ignorant of, and when one realizes these clowns had control of everything until recently…

*They also avoided looking for confirmation * (the CSPAN big guy had to call and warn them) one then can see how they could be led into believing anything Bush says regarding the war.

How much you want to bet Sean Hannity and Orly will have this ALL over their show tonight?

I dunno. Unless the RSC reports directly to the chairman of the RNC who exercises immediate oversight on their activities, what you are basically looking at is one bunch of (probably) low level publicity flacks who got all excited about a replacement “scandal” and jumped without thinking. I guess if you want to hate a whole political party because it includes a few idiots in the machinery, you are free to do so, although you should then be prepared to fall on your sword if your own political party ever has an agent that acts with undue haste regarding a situation.

Once the overlords pull something back, those right wingers usually follow too, but I do remember how even in a close call like this one, O’Reilly did show the standards he has:

Back then some idiot radio stations declared someone father of the year because he punched a teacher’s aide that was accused of being a molester by his daughter.

Turns out she made it all up, and in any case the father was wrong to do that, but never mind! O’Rilley wanted to shame liberals by showing how fathers that did some good old fashion vigilante justice were unfairly demonized by the left so he was going to be on, only that…

The day the segment aired in The O’Reilly Factor the school came with the video evidence that showed the teacher’s aide was innocent. Remembering the time line and how short the section was, I have to say that O’Reilly just dodged a pit thread just barely then.

It seems that the contradictory evidence from the video was pointed to O’Reilly just before the show, I’m 100% sure it was going to be a show that would defend the Father’s actions, but O’Reilly showed a Cardinal Ximinez (Spanish inquisition) like disappointment by just reporting the latest information and just saying to the father that “you are welcome to come back” :dubious: and then O’Reilly said to Pat Campbell (The local Republican politician that was in the show because he was still a defender of the yahoo father) “follow the story and let us know how it turns out, we don’t want to see anyone get hurt at all.”

Yep, teacher’s aides are made of rubber in O’Rilley’s world you know…

RNC was all over the Pelosi Plane Thing.
Nothing at their website on this latest though.

And I don’t think you will find it ever; however, unlike the Republicans, I did check that indeed they did release it and then pulled it out after a few hours (Still, the fact is that they did publish it). My last link in the OP is from a report by the Associated Press.

True. (And some of their partisans are still trying to run with it, despite the White House intervention.) However, silenus appeared to have been more immediately inflamed on the issue of this incident. I don’t know that the RSC was involved with Pelosi’s plane (where there are still odd questions, even if the teacup has almost calmed).

My political party is the Libertarians. The lingering attachment to the Republicans is strictly from upbringing and disgust at the past history of the Democrats. If the Libertarians ever get organized enough to actually have a viable party, then I’ll worry about stuff like this happening to them.

Say, have you seen that thread over in GD?

Does the RNC really think that people would be upset over Pelosi’s use of C-Span clips on her website? Talk about trying to manufacture outrage.

Internet copyright violation as scandal fodder seems like kind of a reach to begin with. The Republican smear machine must be gnashing its collective teeth if that’s the most they can dredge up; Speaker Pelosi must truly be some kind of flawless angelic superbeing.

What will next week’s headline reveal?

‘Pelosi makes rolling stop at intersection!’

‘House Speaker purchases foreign-made goods!’

‘Pelosi’s first name revealed as homosexual slur!’

Cripes, a goodly chunk of their target audience doesn’t know what the hell C-Span is in the first place.

Maybe it was this one:

Not Safe For Work.
