Well this truely sucks

So: is this part of WOO HOO! What a ride! ??

Please do take care and be well.

The way I spell, you are lucky I got sucks right.

That is what my doc said

Shhh… we were trying to make it look like an accident. Now his wife and I will have to figure something else out.

Oh man, I really feel for you. My gall bladder went belly up (heh) in 2008. Instead of an afternoon operation and outpatient the same day, I had complications and was in the hospital for 2 weeks.

I totally empathize, many warm wishes for a quick (and as pain free a recovery as possible).

Crap, best wishes to my favorite bicycling auto mechanic.

Tell the doctor not to forget to clock in and out and to remember the three C’s (complaint, cause, correction) when writing his paperwork… (Best wishes from a former warranty administrator!)

Healthy wishes coming your way!

My husband, sister, and I celebrated the Year of the Gallbladder in 1999 - we all had ours yanked, 2/3 of us without issue. My husband was misdiagnosed, then when they they figured it out, he had a terrible infection and spent his birthday, plus a couple more days, hooked up to IVs. But we all survived, mostly without cool scars. What’s the point of surgery if you can’t show people a cool scar???

At least you’ve got a laptop. All I ever had was crappy TV and noisy roommates.

Sorry to hear about your troubles. :frowning:
Wish you a speedy (and uneventful) recovery!

Surgery set for today @2, but might go early if there is an opening.
Got a shower and shave this AM, so I feel pretty good, and I don’t look and smell like a homeless guy.
Note to anyone headed to a hospital. Shave your arms. You can thank me later.

Hang in there, Rick. You’ll do fine.

And ask for your old parts back.

Rick, I’m sorry to hear about your troubles but am hoping and praying for a successful surgery and the quickest and most painless possible recovery.

One of us! One of us!

I just had my gallbladder removed 5 weeks ago and after the hell it put me through I feel better than I have in years. My digestion is perfect, not a single issue and I only have a few, tiny scars to show for it.

Good luck! And may your operation and recovery be as easy as mine was.

Best wishes, Rick. Don’t forget to log in while you’re barely coming out of the anesthetic so you can post **something **memorable (to us)!

My wife just had hers out and said she felt better almost instantly after the surgery. Good luck!

Yeah, you want to take them to another doc and find out if they really needed to be taken out, or if the first doc was selling you a load.

Then, put them in your garage on a shelf, because you never know, you might be able to find a use for them some day.

In all seriousness, best wishes for a speedy recovery.

I am shocked, shocked to find out what sick puppies you guys are. That is why I love this place.
Don’t worry I intend to tell the doc all of these things.

This doesn’t happen to everybody. Starting off with a low-fat diet and gradually building up often prevents this.

p.s. I was evaluated for gallstones a few months ago, because I was having some sharp back pain in that area, although I had no digestive issues. The x-ray was normal, and the ultrasound was clear too, so it looked like I did have a pulled muscle after all. This isn’t something people should fool around with, which was why I had it investigated.

Good luck with the operation.

My soon-to-be-ex-husband had pancreatis and gall bladder problems 12 years ago. A gallstone had blocked the drainage duct that they share. Like you, he had to wait for the pancreas to stabilize.

He is alive and well, the bugger. He has problems when he eats things that are high in fat. His gets the runs, and his farts could be classified as chemical weapons.
