Well this truely sucks

No, there are plenty of people who do have to change their diets. But I’m proof it’s not inevitable.

Now for the OP’s sake, I won’t discuss all the other issues related to my gall bladder removal.

Get well soon, Rick! Let us know if you need anything.

I hope that Rick, or someone else, gives us an update on how things went.
Get well son, Rick!

I survived. Had a rough night but better now.
Got to eat some real food this AM. Never thought poorly scrambled eggs and dehydrated hash browns could taste so good.
More later.

Glad you survived. Now, get out of that bed and walk around. AND the sooner you poo the sooner you’ll be home!

Glad you know you’re ok, Rick. I’m sure that they have you up and walking already, so hang in there. Hope you’re in full form soon.

Yeah the first 12 hours truly sucked. The pain and nausea were almost as bad as the gallbladder attacks. But once I hit that 12 hour mark I started recovering remarkably quickly.

I read and heard so many horror stories about never being able to eat normally again so I took it very, very slowly when introducing food back into my diet. I can honestly say my digestion is healthier now than it’s been in years. I feel fantastic!

Just take it slow and obey all the doctor’s orders about eating and movement and lifting.

Good luck!

No access to the Dope! That truly does suck!

Say, next time someone says ‘You have a lot of gall!’ you can say, ‘No, I don’t!’

But seriously, Rick, I wish you the speediest of recoveries.

Good news!

So…the big question:
Did it truely suck?

Been Gallbladderlessfor a couple years now. Hope the rest of your plumbing doesn’t go on strike. Mine did. Eat lots and lots of fiber. Trust me.
Feel Better!

Phew, so happy to hear you made it through! Well done! Now, do as you’re told, please.

Sending you sun bright healing thoughts, to swiften your recovery!

Glad to hear it - hope it you’re out soon!

Good to know that you made it through okay! Happy for ya’!
Looking forward to seeing you back here on the SDMB, more often.

They turned him into an English Bulldog?!:stuck_out_tongue:

Hi Rick

Good to see you’re on the mend. Take care!

My wife’s gall bladder was removed some ten years ago. It hasn’t affected her life in the least. Don’t stress out about it too much.

So- how is the recuperation going?
I expect to need this surgery in the future so I always like to hear all the gory details.

Plus, of course, want to wish you well etc.

Better every day. Went back to work yesterday, working part days till I get stronger.

Has to be the funniest-looking word I’ve seen in ages. Without any K’s, no less.
