Welsh legend of Aravan and Gwylly

Does anyone know the story of Aravan and Gwylly? I was looking through some old papers when I came across some notes about a tombstone in Wales with the following inscription that translates as:

"
Will they remember us, Aravan?
Will mankind remember us at all?

Mayhap, Gwylly, Mayhap
Mayhap in their legends and fables–
Mayhap in nought but their dreams–
"
There is a picture associated with the tomb that identifies Aravan as the “last knight” whatever that means with a woman behind him shedding a single tear.

I remember reading about this eight or nine years ago and attempting to research it in books containing folk tales and ballads. No luck. Can some of you medieval history experts provide some insight?

nevermind. someone just IMed me an answer. It’s from a fantasy novel by D. L. McKiernan. I wondered all those years about it for nothing.

there is a moral in here, somewhere…
