This is the only incarnation of Superfriends I am familiar with, when it premiered I was about 10 years old. It was a big deal in kid land at least in my neighborhood. Impressions and memories: no real violence, balloon people, Sir Sedrick Sedrick, Ted Nights voice, Col. Wilcox.

Well, eventually Wendy, Marvin and Wonderdog were replaced by the alien Wondertwins, Zan and Jayna (and their space monkey, Gleek). A re-engineered Wendy and Marvin (and, I think, Wonderdog) eventually showed up in Teen Titans recently as new recruits to that team.

The last version, 1986’s The Super Powers Team: Galactic Guardians was starting to get a bit serious, with the last episode, “The Death of Superman”, especially so. I’d like to think it would eventually have evolved into something akin to Bruce Timm’s version.
