We're buying a huge freakin' house!

Now you guys are even closer to me! I live in Fairmont.

Yeah, I figure mudgirl will spend the first two weeks there just exploring all the ‘nooks and crannies’!

Oh good Lord, I’d never be able to stumble to the bathroom half-asleep in the middle of the night if we switched rooms every night! :stuck_out_tongue:

A hop, skip and a jump!

Geez, that is one motivated seller. Cool lookin’ place, norinew. We’ve never regretted having a place with plenty of room to stretch. Enjoy!

Wow. Congratulations!

Dopers stay free, right?

Well, not necessarily in the guest rooms per se, but I’m sure I’d find somewhere to stash you!

Wow, what a deal! Now I know where to retire to!!

We’ll leave the light on for ya!

I couldn’t buy a walk-in closet for that money where I live. Great buy!

Ditto! That much money wouldn’t buy a 2 bedroom condo in our zip code.

Well, the down side is that the employment situation is very tight around here (I mean moreso than in most other places, even), so hubby has to work out of town. But frankly, there’s no way we could afford, on what we make, to live in the kind of home we’d like to live in, in a neighborhood we’d feel safe letting the kid run. At least not without way overextending ourselves, which we don’t like to do.

I was hoping to see the third floor become The Dopartment.

That’s awesome! Sounds like you’ll make good use of the space. It’s funny, it doesn’t look all that big in the picture. I mean, it looks big, but not 9000 sf big. Congratulations!

It wouldn’t buy a tiny studio in mine!

Well, now there’s an idea! Anyone who wants in, start sending me $5.00/mo. and I’ll need 60 days advance notice of your arrival and departure dates!

It wouldn’t buy anything at all where I live! That’s like 80k in UK sterling - nothing at all in London for that, unlikely there’s anything in the south of England at all (maybe a burnt out shack on 600sq ft of land).

Congratulations, Norinew! It definitely sounds like there’s room for a dog, or a pack of them.

There is no way that thing isn’t haunted as hell (not that there is anything wrong with that). However, if you husband starts repeating how all work and no play is making him a dull boy or your kid starts saying nonsense words, just get out early because if you don’t, oh man, you are screwed.

Redrum!

Oh, I’m definitely coming over now.

How do you plan to get rid of that “old people smell”??

But seriously, congratulations! Best of luck.

OK, but I guess maybe you’d better bring a Magical Negro with you. :stuck_out_tongue:

Well, I have two options here; one: lots of Febreze. Two: put a litter box on every floor, and let the kitty smell overpower it! :stuck_out_tongue:

Thanks. I’m in contact with the town now, trying to find out what kind of inspections, etc. I need to rent places out.
