Oh, wow, that’s a gorgeous house! Like you, I’m in love with the woodwork. I had my heart about half-set on one of similar size and vintage a few weeks ago (Like, Holy Crap! 7500 square feet for $105,000!) Fortunately, I came to my senses, and found one in a much better location for us, and lots less house to clean! (I guess maybe we could’ve considered the B&B route for the big house, but… waking up to total strangers in my house? Naaahhh.)
So I’m gonna ride your coattails in this thread, and brag: We found a house, we’re moving, yay! Nice quiet neighborhood, .5 acre yard with mature landscaping (pretty, pretty azaleas!) 4 bedroom/3 bath home - big enough for the five of us and a dog, not so huge that we’ll be rattling around in empty rooms when the two big kids move away in a few more years. Two-car carport, small screened porch, newly remodeled kitchen, hardwood in the living and dining rooms, carpet in the bedrooms, tile in the bathrooms and kitchen. Nice big master bath, nice closets, and two buildings out back - one for lawn equipment and bikes and stuff, one heated and air conditioned - perfect for a man cave/party room/place to escape and go get some sleep if my husband or I are working weird hours. Good schools (our major reason for moving.) City of Statesboro, Georgia: university town, nice quiet place, large enough and small enough for my tastes, and still only 45 miles to Savannah, if I feel the need for salt water, Spanish moss, and “go cups” from the bar.
Now to sort/dispose/pack/move/find a new job… boo. At least I had the brainstorm to tell the (big) kids “anything of yours, if you don’t want to move it? Put it in the yard sale pile, and you keep the cash from anything you sell.” They’re being utterly ruthless about the keep/sell decisions, 'cause hey, money!
I guess I can’t join the commune, though, since I’m moving - who has a spare $5.00 per month!?

I wouldn’t know what to do…
I only have 650 sq feet in my apt, and sometimes it takes me a long,long time to find where the cat is hiding.
If I had 9000 sq feet, I’d have to get 13.84 cats!!!
