As long as we’re sharing cat photos, here’s our kitties I used to be very allergic, but five years of allergy shots and roto-rooter surgery on my sinuses boosted my tolerance for these sweet creatures.
Here’s the late Guinness and Bailey. I got Bailey as a puppy, and Guinness as a rescue about two years later. The two hit it off immediately after they met, and became a bonded pair through the years. Guinness about two years after died two weeks apart about seven years ago. If you were ever at a Dopefest at my house when I lived in the Cleveland area, you met them.
Here’s more Zoe and Bearcat. Bearcat came from the SPCA. We got Zoe as a kitten from a local hippie cat rescue. Zoe really loves Bearcat.
I’m sure it can be turned off, but I don’t mind the pictures. Posters who post too many or who respond with stupid gifs can be corrected by the community or by the mods.
I like pictures. In fact, I’ve been doing a lot of graphing of Covid data, and I would’ve liked to post some of that in the quarantine threads without having to post it to a separate site.
Worst case, maybe limit it to some forums. I’ve liked seeing everyone’s pets!
Not to make anyone’s head asplode, but there’s a Gallery option that can be added. Would be a good way to post your Covid data by day or week or whatever.
vBulletin did in fact support inline images. In fact, I recall seeing a few threads (like, on hallowe’en) when the mods allowed them. Mostly, though SDMB is a bunch of text maniacs who prefer, FTMP, to use word things.
Of course, in GQ, it seems like inline pictures/media would actually be good thing for some threads.
