I’m sure a lot of people have heard of Garden of the Gods in Colorado Springs. It’s 1,319 acres, and is visited by well over a million people annually.

Went there in 1993, while at a conference in Denver. What a great park. Simply stunning.
Yanni played there, so it must be good.
Totally awesome place! Loved it and look forward to going back. Wish the family members who lived in Colorado Springs hadn’t moved elsewhere, dang it!
I was there in June of 1997, it was definitely a beautiful part of probably the greatest trip I’ve ever taken.
Definitely a good place, but how in heck does it rate above Yosemite, Yellowstone, Zion …?? (I could go on.)
I believe the article is poorly written in that it fails to mention they seem to be ranking city parks.
I’d say it rates pretty well for it’s size. It’s a very visually pleasing set of giant sandstone outcroppings at the base of The Rockies. You could drive around the park in 15 minutes or you could spend most of a day there with your kids. It’s a very short drive off I-25 and it’s free. It isn’t surprising that travelers from all over like to visit the place.
As city parks go, it’s not surprising: It really is quite impressive. I mean, we’ve got some rather nice city parks around here, but nothing that comes close to that.
… so you try really hard?
