We're off to see the Henrys! Woo-hoo, woo-hoo!

Tomorrow the Beloved and I are off to Stratford, Ontario, to see, in sequence:

Henry IV, Pt. 1

Henry IV, Pt. 2

Henry V

I’m excited because Pt.2 isn’t put on much, and there aren’t that many opportunities to see the cycle (we missed Richard II when Stratford put it on two years ago).

My co-workers think I’m a bit nutty for travelling that distance specifically to see these three plays, and they add that the Beloved is very indulgent. (As if I didn’t know that - she’s wonderful!! We’re going to see Private Lives as her pick, after the sound and fury of the Henrys.)

So, what things have people done that have convinced their colleagues that they’re, uhhh, eccentric?

Several years ago I took off two weeks from work to go to the Ansteorran 25th year celebration.

They thought I was nuts.

But not as nuts as when I said I needed a week off to go to war with Florida.

Ahh… sometimes I miss the SCA.
