OK, I know from experience that those are terrible. But are they still better than others of their type?
Diastatic malt powder. No bagel dogs until further notice.
Okay, is it weird that I’m stocked up on 95% of everything mentioned thus far? Including Tapatio, fake cheese and diastatic malt powder.
Jarlsberg Swiss cheese. We get it at Costco and we saw it in the upcoming flyer, so we waited an extra week to get it on sale. We used the last of the Swiss cheese sparingly until we were down to the rind, which we saved for the dog. We go to Costco and my wife saw that the sale cheese was part skim milk! Mrs. Charming and Rested wouldn’t have any of that evil reduced fat cheese in our house. It looked normal to me and it was super cheap with the sale but we skipped it. When I was making room in the fridge for our other Costco refrigerator items, I removed the old Swiss cheese rind and chopped it up for the dog. I noticed that the label said “part skim milk.” Dammit.
I’m out of motivation. Oversupplied with Ennui.
There’s a shredded cheese that’s pretty decent. Can’t remember brand off the top of my head, but it’s milk-free, packaged as “heart healthy”, in a green bag.
There is a vegan butcher nearby that makes pretty decent milk free cheese.
That’s about it. Daiya is gross. But, when you want cheese and need to stay away from milk…
I (luckily) can eat anything I want, except for “too much”. Was just wondering if I’m shopping for others if Daiya is as good as cardboard cheese gets.
