I have known people in Obsidian’s exact situation who have collected from the driver of the vehicle they were in. Kinda weird going after a friend, but totally legit. IANAL.

Well, that would be a little weird, defiinitely - I was referring to the other car, whose driver’s actions were the direct cause of the injury.

I wouldn’t call it weird. I’d call it pretty shitty, since it’s due to Friend’s fast reflexes that Obisidian wasn’t more seriously injured.

Yes, but in a similar situation with severe injuries, it may have been how things wound up. I am not an insurance guy, but I think that if Obsidian had been hospitalized, his medical insurance would have attempted to subrogate via the driver’s insurance company.
