I grew up in Waco and attended Baylor… twice. Ain’t no telling how many times we’ve stopped up the road in West over the years. Here’s a picture from inside that exact store I took just a month back. Them’s my sister’s Crybabies for sale there. Perfect w/ Czech fare.
Heck yeah it’s heartbreaking. Those are salt of the Earth folks, to be sure.

One thing I’m a tad surprised hasn’t made it over here yet is those trdelniki things they sell in Prague and elsewhere- the hollow pastry things with the almond sugar, etc…
Those would sell like crazy at the Czech Stop and at Westfest, I’d imagine.

Count me as another fan of West and the Czech Stop. I stopped there countless times when I was in college, making the trip between Fort Worth and College Station. It’s been ages since I’ve headed south on 35, though. 
Most of my travels these days take me, well, west. Maybe I’ll take a day trip to West this summer.

In fact, a number of other countries offered aid as well. My adoptive country, I remember, had a military field hospital mostly ready for service, with everything but the perishable medicines and the actual human beings loaded on airplanes, ready to go if needed. Most of these offers were not accepted because of logistics - too many helpers end up getting in each other’s way. But they were sincerely meant and not intended as an insult to the US.
It sure was on her dinner table, I’d guess elsewhere too. I like 'em best in scrambled eggs and on a burger. Even Georges in Waco has a Crybaby burger now. She was at the Czech Stop last week checking on her Czech mates. I’ll stop there with some buddies this weekend en route to Dallas so we can give them some business, make a donation and hopefully hear some stories from the locals. I’m curious about the recovery and want to get a sense of how people are dealing with a life altering event now.
