I just watched a rerun of “The Women Of Qumar”, the 8th episode of season 3.

In a scene early in the episode, the president’s wife shows up in Josh’s office in a wheelchair. I don’t remember anyone saying why she was in a wheelchair. Anyone know what the reason was?

Ski acident, I think. They mention it at one point.

I don’t think it was mentioned in that episode. She explained the ankle while talking to the Chief Counsel (Oliver Platt)

I believe the real reason is that Stockard Channing hurt her ankle in real life somehow, so they had to write in the wheelchair. IIRC, in later episodes she’s seen using crutches.
