We've just had a baby! At 30 weeks!

Oh, she’s GORGEOUS! And a beautiful rosebud mouth!

Sigh Babies…

Aww congratulations on the (very) early arrival. I hope she and mum are doing well and you have managed to grab some sleep.

Isla is a beautiful name. Don’t take this the wrong way, but my lovely 14 year old collie is called Isla, and I wished I’d kept the name for any daughter I had. You know what, maybe I’ll still use it. It’s a lovely name.

Hope you can take your lovely Isla home soon. She’s a keeper, alright

Congratulations to you and the new mama. Isla is just beautiful.

We’re pretty certain the date is correct, but yes she is amazingly well developed. You can’t see it well in that pic but she does have a lot of lanugo, especially on her back and legs. If you look closely at the photo you can see some of the tufts on the back of her left arm. Her shoulders are really hairy!

LOL. What’s really funny is watching the lanugo fall out. Or rather, you hardly see it fall out, because it’s so fine and downy (and nurses are good about keeping the bed clean), but one day soon you’ll just look at her and be all, “wait? Where are her hairy shoulders?”

WhyBaby was so early we watched the lanugo come in. That was weird!

I forgot to say, my wife has come home tonight, she’s soaking in the bath right now. It was hard leaving Isla behind but she’s being well looked after. Mrs C is hopefully going to get squeezing out some milk for us to take in tomorrow.

And since you asked, here’s another pic. That sleepy one-eye-half-open look is pretty much me most mornings, pre coffee.

Nom nom nom nom babies!

So beautiful! Congrats, dad!

She’s beautiful and I love the name.

What a gorgeous baby. Best wishes to you all!

Isla was my grandmother’s name so I’m a bit partial to it.

Your little cutie looks a bit skeptical about the whole thing.

In about fifteen years you’ll be seeing that look again, coupled with, “Daaaad!”

Just wait til she’s eating well, and you burp her, and she lets out on of those loud BELCHES. Will she be taking after daddy then? (I swear the whole NICU rattled the first time Moon Unit did that. I blame my husband. I never drank beer).
