So who’s expecting a baby, who wants to be and hows it all going for you?
I’m at 21 weeks now, we had our 19 week scan and are expecting a baby girl Anne-Marie.
They worked out her weight at 13 ounces which is a little over the average 7-9 ounces at 19 weeks but par for the course with leechboys family who all have huge babies. Until last week I was still loosing weight but have finally put on two kilograms so my baby Doctor is happy.
Anne-Marie is moving around now which is exciting, I’ve tried to explain to leechboy how it feels but don’t think I can explain it very well.
The morning sickness is finally going away although my Crohns disease has been really bad so they put me on high dose steroids for that which may have helped with the morning sickness.
I just signed on to distract myself for five minutes so I’m not upstairs in the bathroom staring at a stick I JUST peed on. Just. Like a minute and a half ago just.
I’ll be right back… (i’m fairly sure it’s gonna be a yes.)
Can’t wait to hear if it’s a positive, smashed Ice cream…
Is this your first, leechbabe? I totally feel for you on the morning sickness. My morning sickness lasted all day long, for about 2 months.
I have been trying to get pregnant since last month. I don’t want to jinx it, but I think I may be. My monthly visitor is late, and I am not feeling to hot, if you know what I mean.
I am so excited. Everytime I see a newborn I get all mushy…
WOW!!! Congrats Smashed Ice Cream that is fantastic news for you (I hope).
JerseyDiamond yep this is the first and I can’t wait. We were shocked to find out, but now are really looking forward to it. Sending good fertility thoughts your way and a sprinkling of baby dust.
tlw are you saying you might be too? How cool
Roadwalker with the state of my health and the high chance of having a big baby we signed in for a cesarean. At my last visit to the specialist he said that they would do a scan at 34 weeks and see if Anne-Marie had stopped developing because they may decide to deliver early due to her size (and my health). Do you worry much about complications with a home birth as that seems to be a real issue for us?
That is wonderful news Smashed Ice cream!!! I wish you a happy and healthy pregancy; you too, leechbabe.
Thanks for the prego karma and baby dust/sprinkles, ladies…
I used to be very involved with homebirth and homebirth politics :). Homebirth with a good midwife and with good screening protocol is very safe. There’s no way someone like you should be allowed to birth at home. Some births belong in hospital and any homebirth whacko who says that all birth is safe and it’s hospitals which cause any and all problems  deserves a hit from the cluestick. Women and babies have been dying for centuries because birth carries some risk. Of course that’s not to say that hospital birth is perfect and that there are no problems caused by some hospital routines because that’s not so.
But a pregnancy which is healthy and has no known risk factors, attended by a trained experienced midwife with good equipment and good backup has a good chance of a healthy outcome.
Oh and I am not pregnant, refuse to be pregnant and would have a nervous breakdown if I were pregnant. Anybody who dares breathe bloody baby dust in my direction will be severely reprimanded.
I’m now, what, 27 weeks? Almost 7 months, anyway, due in early April. And it’s a girl! We’re taking submissions for names.
I’m getting pretty big, and this past week started really noticing the weight. Working out is harder, and it hurts to walk when I’m tired. She’s moving around a lot, I think even more strongly than the first one (it seems to be rhumba time in there).
We are almost certainly having a scheduled c-section; last time was a 10lb.+ baby facing the wrong way, and I’m not a good risk for a vaginal birth any more. Oh well, at least I’ll be coherent this time (was too tired last time, and baby #1 needed some help, so we didn’t really meet for hours).
I’m twenty weeks right now, due in mid-june, and will be finding out tomorrow (hopefully) if it’s a boy or a girl. I know there’s quite a few more of us expectants around here, it seems like every other thread I’m in anymore someone’s mentioning babies.
Because my little sister is having her first child in June. I am so excited I’m ready to fall over. It doesn’t look like I’ll ever be a father myself, so I am prepping to be the Uncle on Wheels.
Mrs. Fallfast and I are expecting our first in April. She is at about 26 weeks right now. We are both pretty excited and scared at the same time. We are both 40, we have been doing the career thing and just kept putting off kids. Finally hit us, if we are gonna have some we better get busy. It is a girl, and we are taking submissions for names also. We’ve done the ultrasounds and the amnio and everything is perfect.
My wife had in-vitro fertilization (due to infertility from endometriosis - guys, ask your wife what this is, she’ll know) over the Christmas holiday and it appears we will be the parents of twins. It’s early, but next week the doctor will check for two heartbeats.
I’m due on Valentine’s Day. Only about 4 weeks to go!
I’ve developed this really attractive pregnant woman waddle in the past few weeks. Luckily my husband thinks it’s cute. =)
