We've learned these last few days that the government is too big

To those of you asking “what more do you want?”

I was pretty clear when I said “There would be no need for me to “try again” as that would suffice for me”

What he has done, has been a decent measure for me.

From listening to some here though, he never should have apologized in the first place.

Obama the person didn’t need to apologize. Obama the titular head of the executive branch did. We’re talking about the first guy.

First, you said that in a “reason for editing” comment. If you want to be pretty clear, I’d suggest keeping the meat of your post out of that field.

Second, I definitely didn’t get from it the idea that you were saying you were fine with his response; I thought yo uwere speaking hypothetically.

You’re right, its not. I believe the OP is trying to use an unrelated incident to make a statement about the government’s size.

How are the two things related?

Understood.
I hit reply and then wanted to address that aspect when maybe I should have used a second post.

Apparently, Obama’s cabinet is “too vast”:

A Deputy Treasury Secretary was informed of the targeting before the election. He didn’t think this was important enough to bother his boss about?

I hear his spoon is too big too.

I think the failure of this thread indicates that it, too, is too big.

Doubling down on your silly theory. Interesting.

There’s your confusion. Our system of government has what’s known as ‘checks and balances.’ There is no one ‘top guy’ of the government.

There is one ‘top guy’ of the executive branch. His job, at least in theory, is to execute the legislation passed by the legislative branch. But the legislative branch has passed many laws at many different times, and the President is still charged with executing them, regardless of how recent or ancient they are, and regardless of the strictures of this year’s budget that the current Congress has provided him with.

And it’s easy for Congress to saddle the President with a bunch of contradictory requirements, because they don’t have to unravel the contradictions.

There seems to be a Republican talking points deficit. He’s come up with a new one as soon as they get it posted, don’t worry.
