Sometimes a tale starts worrisome, then becomes tragic, then tiresome, then simply comedic. Such has been the life of basketball coach Bobby Knight, who finally lost his job at Indiana due to his temper tantrums, only to be hired by friends at Texas Tech.
It had all seemed to go so smoothly there for a while. Until this. He’s been suspended by TTU. Why?
Just go away and *stay * away for good this time, Bobby. You’re an embarrassment to humanity.
No surprise that Knight had another meltdown. It was always a matter of if, not when. Actually, following the ESPN interview, this is his second meltdown in a few weeks, both times after extremely innocuous comments.
I’m just surprised it was with the university chancellor, since he’s the guy that, you know, pays his salary. Still, no surprise, though.
I believe there is a typo in the article you quoted, all stories I’ve read except the exerpt you quoted say there was NO contact between Knight and the Chancellor.
I gotta agree with Dan Wetzel, in that the blame for this whole incident lies squarely on the shoulders of Chancellor Smith.
First Miles Brand, now this idiot.
I hoped this when IU fired Knight, and I will hope it again if TT fires him. If he is let go, I sincerely hope that your program goes to shit and he latches on with your biggest rival and makes your school his bitch on the court.
I have since softened my stance in regards to Indiana, but Tech knew exactly the kind of temper they were getting when they hired Knight. Why any of the language or outbursts is suprising anyone, especially with the kind of team he has built in Lubbock, is beyond me.
