What a waste of time (apologies for the tepid nature of the rant).

I have a couple of ‘wimmin’s problems’ that necessitated me visiting a gynaecology clinic to be investigated further. I made the appointment about two months ago, and today was the day for me to roll up to be poked and prodded to determine if I was gonna live to see another day, or if I should start paying off my funeral arrangements!

Well, given the nature of the public health system in Aus, I was pleasantly surprised that I only had to wait 1/2 an hour to see the gynae. “Cool”, thinks me, “I’ll be outta here in no time”.

But my stupid GP had forgotten to fax my medical details to the clinic, so the gyn. had no idea why I was there, and was not about to take MY word on my medical history!! So she rang my GP to get the history sent on, but they stuffed up and didn’t do it. So then I suggested to the gyn that she ring the (other) hospital where I had some ultrasounds done to see if she could get the reports from them. Well, they sent through the reports alright, but lacking the ‘films’ of my innards, they were not prepared to make any assessment whatsoever.

So now I have to have ANOTHER bloody ultrasound, and more blood tests and miscellaneous other invasive procedures before they will even determine if I’m worthy of treatment or not. And this will take another month of stuffing around…arghhhhh.

And in the end I wasted a whole afternoon that should’ve been spent writing my Philosophy essay that I’ve only half done and is due on Friday. Smeg it.

Bloody ultrasound?

Jebuz, how loud did they turn it up?

Ugh, that’s crappy. Is your GP normally that stupid? You’d think they’d realise what an inconvenience they’d caused.

Here’s hoping you get the all-clear when the results are in.

Well, at least now there will be enough time for them to warm up the speculum.
