Especially when someone else pays the $20 to claim his identity.
It’s probably easy; people guessed his passwords in the past, so taking over his identity online should be very doable.

True, Discourse, that wasn’t a complete sentence…
NOW will you allow me to post?
That shit is one of the things that really pisses me off about Discourse.
I wonder if it is a recent “update” because it happened to me twice in the past week, and it has never happened to me before.
No, I think it’s pretty obvious he was referring to it being number one at the Google Play Store, because he’s talking about the app itself, not his personal account or his followers. “Bigger numbers” means it had more downloads than TikTok, Facebook, Twitter because, technically, in the time frame he’s referring to it did. He posted that because in his head, it means that he has now bested all the platforms that banned him.
Just don’t tell him that it has dropped to 312th place while TikTok, Facebook and even Twitter remain as popular as ever.
That’s because the scum that scum is talking at want his lies to be true.
For purely schadenfreudistic reasons I keeo an eye on DWAC stock price which which for the last two months had been pretty much steady in the $16-$17 range. Only to discover it jumped 70% to $29 on Nov 4th apparently due to Trump hinting he is going to run. I know the aphorism is “buy on the rumor sell on the news” but given that this “rumor” has been known to anyone with half a brain since 2020, I think the correct aphorism might more likely involve a fool and his money.
The cap for greater fools continues to shift ever higher and higher.
Never mind, wrong thread
Something I’ve wondered about Truth Social, but I haven’t cared quite enough to get myself registered on the site to find out:
When trump was on twitter, the responses to every tweet of his ran about 70 / 30 (maybe 80 / 20) anti-trump sick burns / pro-trump praise. Reading the replies was my primary source of anti-trump memes, and if I’m being honest, provided me with a lot of delicious anti-trump schadenfreude.
How does it work on Truth Social? I assume there are censors who are busily deleting all the anti-trump replies and accounts that are critical of trump, but with the social network faltering financially, do they have enough people working to white-wash the feed? Or do a fair amount of critical and sarcastic comments show up, at least for a brief window?
I thought they banned people who were critical of Trump, because TS is all about Free Speech™.
I’m sure they do, but I imagine the effort to keep up is akin to cleaning up floodwaters with a mop or two. I was just wondering how successful they are at the Stalinesque purging of criticism and mockery.
If I recall correctly, @Ann_Hedonia was waitlisted months to even get onto Truth, and found it a graveyard when she got there. Are things even different at this point? Does the firmament hear Trump’s twuths?
It’s still boring af. Trump posts links to media articles that are highly favorable to him, as well as some ALL CAPS rants. Each post usually gets around 400 replies, and they are almost all just Trump memes with the occasional copypasta text about how awesome Trump is. There is no real discussion and not many original comments related to the post. A post that draws public attention will get a few thousand replies, the recent post disrespecting the Constitution got just under 5000- but they are still mostly low quality low effort memes.
It seems spectacularly unsuccessful to me.
I was babysitting today and my three year old grandnephew accidentally posted the following on Truth Social.
B my #kkkjkjjjjjjjo LLC l LV
I think this is one of the higher quality TS postings.
Clearly a fawning reference to a Trump LLC, and a misspelled reference to the LIV Golf Tour.
I was going to ask how many followers he had compared to twitter, but then google to the rescue. Google answers is telling me just shy of 90 million twitter followers before he was banned, versus now just shy of 4 million followers on TS.
But that would be a smaller number of people who are really devoted (because the only reason to be on Twuth is for Twump) so he can really feel like a cult leader.
To get my daily Schadenfreude dose I keep an eye on the DWAC stock price and am happy to report that despite a brief surge up $29 to in November when Trump announced his candidacy and the DWAC board managed to get another extension on the vote of whether to buy Truth Social, the DWAC stock price has been heading south, and has now reached a new low of just under $15 a share. Down almost 85% from it high pf $97.54 a share. There isn’t a whole lot lower that it can go since it pretty much has a hard floor at around $10.00 a share. Since if the deal doesn’t go through the $10 a share the initial investors paid for their stock divvied up among the share holders.
One thing I’ve noticed when someone posts a screenshot of one of his tweefs is that the “Likes” are generally in the low thousands. That’s gotta be just a tiny percentage of the Likes he was getting on Twitter. Of course it could also be that the screenshots are taken shortly after he posts, before many people have a chance to read and Like his post. But I prefer to imagine him seething and stewing because his Like numbers are so low on his own platform.
He’s never been as well-Liked as his ego tells him he deserves.
