What Am I?

Well, sort of. The crack at Obama is not too moderate, and I would think a real moderate would give Bush 41 some props.

But, anyway, I’m curious about his place on the compass as well.

Not only we don’t know what you are, the moderators can’t even agree on what forum your question belongs in.

You win one internet. Congratulations!

Holy shit, I’m the fuckin’ Dalai Lama!

I win an internet? How cool, :cool:Just call me Alphonse:D wait is that a bad thing?
Right, the grid, barely conservative and slightly more libertarian, just off center.
Hmmm, well, far as the Obama comment, yeah, I wince now, should have said clownish, I think the economy is really hurting him because it seems like he keeps saying we’re in a recovery, but it doesn’t look that way when I look around.
ummm Bush, yeah, I guess he was ok, kinda wimpy though;), that no new taxes thing was pretty dumb, he did kick some ass in kuwait though.
moderate republican, huh, that strikes me as kind of amusing in a way, my greatest political hero is actually Cecil Andrus, a democrat and secretary of interior for Jimmy Carter no less

nods to Holiness The Dalai Lama Cmyk

I don’t get the logic of the expectation that an incoming president unconditionally and evidently MUST turn a historical recession around within a term whether it is realistically possible or not.

How do you feel about Sarah Palin?

How do you feel about Michelle Bachmann?

Do you ever listen to Rush Limbaugh? If so, what is your opinion of him?

Do you ever listen to Glenn Beck? If so, what is your opinion of him?

I guess I can kind of understand where you’re coming from. I do sort of wonder “What would people label me if they had to?”, knowing full well that the label would be misleading. Political parties are usually attributed a whole cluster of views, and I hate to think that by admitting to a certain belief I have, people would assume that I subscribe to the rest of the views of that party as well.

I don’t really, it just seems like I’m always hearing that we are now in recovery being attributed to Obama and it just doesn’t look that way to me.

Sarah Palin…she’s good looking, seems to be good at firing up a certain segment of the conservative population, beyond that I don’t really think about her much.
Michelle Bachman … got nothing:o I know who she is but drawing a total blank
Limbaugh…yeah occasionally here and there, mostly when driving so not a whole lot. hmmm I think he’s pretty smart but I also think that he’s starting to lose his impact and relevance, he’s past his prime and its starting to show(OY I can remember watching him on tv!)
Glenn Beck…not much, so I don’t really have an opinion of him.

yeah, I hate that too, drives me nucking futs

upon further consideration I take perverse pride in stumping the moderators

You, me, Gandhi, and the Dalai Lama, all hanging out in the same place. I’ll make cocktails.

 So should voting be prohibited or mandatory?

ETA: Or would we bring back slavery? (Presumably if voting was a requirement, and you could only vote after “sacrificial service to the nation,” then it would require enslaving people.)

LouisB
bachman, right, another fucking politician

to clarify Lord Feldon, anytime between the ages of 18 and 32 serve the nation in some way that is sacrificial. For example, in the military, there are NO civil rights, privileges that are highly safe gaurded from abuse, yes, but they ARE privileges and some of them are restricted as a matter of policy(for instance in the army you cannot use racist speech or display racist literature or symbols in your quarters thus the privilege of free speech and expression is restricted). So members of the armed forces sacrifice their civil rights for a time for the good of the country. In the scenario as I would have it, you don’t have to serve if you don’t want to, if thats what you choose, you don’t get to vote. IF you choose to serve and earn the vote, it becomes mandatory.
Do I think this is feasable? Parts of it maybe, enforcing a mandatory vote is a real headache. is it likely? I don’t really think so.(I’m reading these as implied questions in your statement, forgive me if Im wrong)

I’d say you’re ignorant about several things (as are we all, about something) & a bit confused about some things. But you seem like some regular guy from my par of the country.

You got kicked out of church? OK, not that regular…? Or you have a different kind of church.

Pfft. Moderates. I’m just a bit further out than Mandela if I’m reading the charts right.

In what way is the abolition of democracy and the installation of what amounts to a military junta “moderate”?

Why is my name used in this post? This post is certainly not an answer to the question(s) I asked.

I think he was responding to your question about what he thinks about Bachmann with the erudite reply of “bachman, right, another fucking politician”. He then went on to reply to Lord Feldon.

guestchaz, it helps if you put other posters’ names in bold. Or, even better, use the quote button.

Probably just seems like it, rather than in actuality. I personally have never seen anyone try to claim that we are in a recovery because of Obama.

If anyone does say things that sound like that to you, they are probably said in response to those who try to put all the blame on Obama for the entire economy. It’s debatable whether or not we are in a recovery. But if we are, then the entire syllogism that “Presidents are responsible for the economy; the economy tanked under Obama; therefore Obama is handling the economy very poorly” falls apart, if the economy isn’t doing as bad as Obama’s detractors claim. Nevermind that the first part of the syllogism is incorrect, as well.

A real Christian? Why? Stories you were told when young and empty? Sound like someone wanting a reading. Hold out your hand. Wait a minute, not that hand, it is the one you wipe with. Hold out the other hand. Not that one, that is your special alone time hand. Never mind, I will just read your aura. BBZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzz… there. Yep, you are a redneck. Do you live in Atlanta also? How much are your taxes? Oh, that much. LIbertarian? Sounds like it to me. So, where are all of the manufacturing plants that will lead recovery? Mexico, China, everywhere they were legislated to. Now go thank a politician for all the stolen money and lost jobs in Amerika. Heil, Hillary, Heil GOP, Heil, Police state.
