What android phones are people liking these days? (google fi compatible)

I currently have a Moto X4. It’s been pretty good. The battery is not holding a charge as long as it used to (it’s 2 years old) and I might replace the battery, but I might just buy a new phone.

I bought this phone mostly because i wanted Google Fi, and I still want to use that. I chose it over the pixel not just because it was cheaper, but also because it accepted an external SD chip (I carry around a lot of music and photos, and don’t always have good internet connectivity) and also for the audio jack. I’ve mostly been happy with it. My two complaints are:

  • Too many applications need to run on the “home” drive and not the external one, and so my space there is tight, even though I have ample space on the chip. (8gb ram)
  • The camera is definitely a step down from the camera on my prior phone (blackberry priv) and from my husband’s pixel.
  • It’s too large. I’d really like something a little smaller in my hands and in my pocket.

I’m a fairly heavy phone user, and a fairly heavy battery-drainer. I don’t want to waste money, but I am not very price sensitive.

What do y’all recommend these days?

Moto G Stylus

128GB internal storage, plus SDcard slot
2+ full days battery life (no removable battery though, those are hard to find now)
Stylus
Good camera

It’s large, but you sort of need a large phone for long battery life. In fact if battery life is paramount, the G Power gives you 3 full days battery life but only 64GB internal storage.

I have the G7 power. I like it. But, I can tell you that battery life is over hyped. You can get 3 days of battery with minimal use, but that rapidly decreases as use increases. Especially if you do alot of Internets.
But it does recharge rapidly!

That’s got great specs, but it’s a lot larger than what I’m holding, and this one is really a little too large for comfort. I’m willing to pay more to get a smaller phone.

Also, as i shop more, i realize that i want an environmentally sealed phone. My current phone is rated to fall into water and be fished out. And while i don’t do that, i HAVE been washing it every time i return home from a shopping trip. Usually just spreading running alcohol over it, but I like knowing I’m unlikely to fry it when i clean it.
