Workmen next door found this under the pier & beam 1920s house next door. One of the men said it was a squirrel, but I think it’s too big. I’d say a cat. We do have skunks, possums, and raccoons here in the city, too. Anyone recognize this?
A scale would be helpful.
Since I’ve never seen a squirrel with fangs, it’s got to be some predator - a cat is most likely. Raccoons have a pointier head.
Cat skull - even the suture lines on the skull match
So sorry. I didn’t think about scale. Here’s one of the pictures before cropping. The skull is 4 inches from end to end and 3 inches across the widest part. Fits comfortable in the palm of this woman’s hand.
ETA: Crosspost. Thanks.
Cat.
As the owner of squirrel, cat, and raccoon skulls; it’s a cat.
