What are "Aggie values"?

Apparently throwing horsecrap on a visting team is not consistent with them, but it makes no mention as to what they are. What (specifcally) are “Aggie values”?

James Baker says that they include loyalty, hard work, responsibility and service.

TAMU started as an agricultural college and it used to be that every student had to be a member of the corps. There’s a strong sense of honor and loyalty to the schoool and corps.

You mean like for x + y?

Well, here’s a link to the student conduct code.

“Quadding”?

Quadding includes but is not limited to throwing a person into water or holding a student down and pouring water on him/her.

I’d venture a guess that Sullivan is going to regret that poor decision. When I was a student there, booing the other team wasn’t tolerated.

My wife’s late uncle Paul lived in Texas for many years, and he delighted in telling Aggie jokes, which were standard ignorant-rube ethnic jokes. He would have had half a dozen jokes to illustrate “Aggie Values.” The funny thing was, Paul was not a UT alum. He was a native Hoosier, and a Ball State alum.

He was a marvelous, witty man, and we miss him.

Back in the late 1950s and early 1960s, when A&M was an all male, all ROTC kind of place, stories about horrendous hazing there were common. My gay cousin was forced to attend A&M by his father; ostensibly to “make a man of him.” It made a nervous wreck of him instead. From what I remember, that wasn’t an uncommon condition among Freshmen on that campus.

Booing still isn’t tolerated - isn’t that what the “horse laugh” is all about?

Seems like Not Tolerating Things is shaping up as an Aggie value.

Also all-male boot fetish activity.

What does that have to do with not tolerating? There are currently women in the Corps, true they weren’t allowed in originally and couldn’t wear the boots until 1979, but they are in the Corps now.

Why should it - what’s the cherry got to do with a banana split?

I don’t like cherries, so a cherry has nothing to do with my banana split!
