What Are BORZOI (Dog Breed) Like?

I would liketo own a Borzoi-they are such elegant, beautiful dogs! BeforeI start looking, and any owners give me a few tips?
Are these dogs very difficult to train? Do they make good pets, and are they OK with children and other dogs?
I also have an English Springer Spaniel-are these two breeds compatible?
Also, Iunderstand that the Borzois are somewhat standoffish-is this true?

These are hunters, fast and large, you will have to be careful of their temperament as they do have a tendency to go after smaller animals like cats, or sometimes other small dogs.

They also tend to be one person dogs.

They are like greyhounds in that they either run, or just lay around. Regular exercise is easier to provide than the kind of constant stimulation and interaction that, say, terriers need.

However, these big usually seem somewhat aloof. If you don’t feel the love from cat behavior, you probably won’t feel the love from a Borzoi.

Additionally, they are large dogs. Which means they eat a lot of food. Which means you need some pretty big baggies, if you know what I mean. Something to think about.

Beautiful
Nastiest dog I’ve ever encountered, including the attack bulldog mixes that lived a few blocks over.

It could only be let out at night - when everyone in the neighborhood went to sleep - as it would attack. It treed a few people in the neighborhood at various times. It usually didn’t attack it’s owner, but it broke his daughter’s arm once. (Not daughter who lived away and was visiting for the afternoon, but daughter who lived at home in the same house every day.)

But then, it might have just been a really bad example of the breed.
