The movie for DLM was indeed terrible, but it came out years after the series ended, so I look at it separately. I think NJ had a more realistic depiction of medical professional drug addiction since it was her undoing in the end. House lived happily ever after, just like Holmes (on which it was based).
The show I came in to suggest – The Dick van Dyke Show – has been mentioned a couple of times already.
I’ll add The Prisoner – although, with only one season, that’s not surprising.
“Upstairs, Downstairs” 1970s version
“I Love Lucy”
He drove off into the sunset with his terminally ill friend, and House could never practice medicine again or live a normal life. :dubious:
What about Happy Days? That never jumped the shark, did it?
30 Rock
Slings and Arrows

Luther.
Well, at least it never nuked the fridge.
Ew. Gross.
On a more serious note, I’m not sure whether a show that didn’t so much decline in quality as always be kinda hit-or-miss can be said to jump the shark. American Dad is another one of those shows like Family Guy - never really got noticeably worse, but from the start there were always episodes that were kinda duds (or, in the case of shit like Seahorse Seashell Party or Fresh Heir, are just offensively horrible and horribly offensive). So if we’re going to put Family Guy on this list, American Dad definitely belongs there.
South park… I dunno, I’d say season 20 is pretty close to a shark-jump.
See, for me, as soon as they killed the wife it jumped the shark.
Hell, rest of the post is gonna be spoilers for the first season, fair warning.
The idea of an angry loser of a detective who ruins his personal life through impetuous violence, but who is a genius in the office, is already completely cliche, but it was fun to watch because Idris Elba is so damn good.
But to take that cliche and pile onto it the woman in refrigerator trope, to motivate him with a dead wife? Aw, C’MON!
I watched out the rest of that season, but it left a bad taste in my mouth. Surely the writers can do better than the murdered lady routine.
The Big Bang Theory is in its 11th season, has gone through a multiple of changes and has yet to tiptoe the guppy.
Antiques Roadshow same plot every week, but always fascinating beginning to end!
Ugh you actually liked the latest season? My wife and I are huge fans of The Americans but we were bored out of our skulls with season four. It had a few good ideas, but stretched out to cover waaaaay too much time.
Yeah, I still liked it, but I will admit that it was the weakest season so far.
I’ve read that they have had the storyline worked out for awhile, but it seems like perhaps they stretched the plot out over two final seasons instead of one once they were renewed for the final two seasons.
Justified - never jumped, also very underappreciated
Futurama - IMO the better of the MG animated series
The Wire - best drama series EVER? definitely did not jump any water predators
The Good Wife - wife got me interested, watched every episode
Also agree on West Wing, House and Weeds
The Leftovers never jumped the shark. Damn good series too, all 28 episodes, one of the finest ever made.

Third Rock from the Sun was good right up to its last moment.
“Da, da da da da da DA DA SPACESHIP…”

I was going to say Sports Night but that was only two seasons.
On Счастливые Дни, shark jumps you!
