What are the biggest secrets that remain unrevealed?

Nope, that’s a replica. The Coptic Church has several of them.

 Why would the Coptic Church have a stockpile of leather jackets and snap-brim hats?!

That’s all right… we need something to make sequels about!

I can’t think of many actual secrets- where someone, somewhere knows the answer but is keeping it to themselves- that someone hasn’t managed to get to the bottom of eventually.

A book I read a while back had a passage to the effect that “Deathbeds have a remarkable way of loosening tongues”- ie, someone involved will usually share what they know, even if it’s nearly 80 years later… after all, if you’re dying, does it really matter if you tell everyone that you know who really shot JFK, or what’s actually at Area 51?

Did Captain Provand and his assistant, Indre Shira, really photograph the Brown Lady of Raynham Hall?

And if not, how did they fake it?

What are Albert Einstein’s last words?

“If I had only known, I would have been a locksmith.”

Last? I don’t know.

It is/was a US Air Force test site for top secret shit, mostly prototypes of planes and stuff. Nothing to do with aliens.

Exactly- the only Alien they had there was eventually moved to Venezuela, where he took on a series of odd jobs under the name “Mr. Pilkington”.

… but perhaps I’ve said too much.

Ummm…call me a skeptic (cause I am) but it just looks like a picture that didn’t get exposed 100% perfectly. i can go make a few hundred pictures for you that look like they have a ghost in them if you want.

Unless I’m very much mistaken, the May Day Mystery is still an unrevealed secret.

And another one that was discussed on this message board previously is still secret, AFAIK- the significance of the order in which U.S. states were listed in a puzzle devised, iirc, by someone in MicroSoft.

Lastly…If indeed it was said in a movie, which movie had a character saying the line “It doesn’t do anything - That’s the beauty of it.”

Not quite a secret - more a mystery - but who really was in the iron mask?

Sometimes you’ll hear the expression “…since who laid the rails” or “…till who laid the rails.” Well - who laid the rails?

loved it

A secret that’s so secret I can’t remember it correctly.

There was some guy who took gasoline out of cars and replaced it either with water, or something that an invention of his produced. He later disappeared mysteriously.

I can’t remember his name.

One day we will find out where Evelyn Dick has been living since her release from prison in 1958 and her assumed identity since then.

If we’re lucky we may even get to the bottom of what happened to her husband and her baby.

John Henry! DUH!

John Henry! DUH!

I’m not sure, but I think that it may have been John Henry.

As for the secret of Oak Island, I think most evidence shows that there isn’t anything buried there. For a nice review, read here.

I believe that the settles from Roanoke joined with the indians and became the Lumbee tribe. There is genetic testing going on right now in order to confirm or deny that theory.

I’ll give you good odds that’s not what happened.

Why would every bit of every last house be destroyed, and then the ruins removed? Why would somebody carve the word “Croatoan” in a tree? Why weren’t the next couple of generations of Lumbees somewhat European looking?
