What are the EHarmony essay questions?

After a bit of a hiatus since the end of my last relationship, I have decided to jump back into the world of dating by joining Match.com and EHarmony. Several years ago I started the personality profile on EHarmony but stopped when I saw that there were essay questions. It has been so long that I don’t remember what those questions were. This time around, I will answer them (assuming they are still there of course) but I’d like to formulate my responses before I take the test. Do any of you know what the essay questions are?

I know many of you get upset when you offer advice with no follow up so I promise I will post my profiles here and let you critque them. But beware, it will probably be the end of the weekend before I am ready to publish them. Bonus, just because I’m a nice guy I promise I’ll let you know how everything turns out in the end…

Nice guy bonus 2 - these are 2 pics I’m thinking about posting with my profile.

They are recent (less than 6 months old), but I have shaved the goatee since they were taken. I’ll take a couple of new pics, sans goatee, this weekend which I will post with my profile. Should I still post these pictures anyway, or only the new ones?

I would post both non-evil and evil versions (OK the grapes one) but definitely post the shorn ones first.

Dude you rocked the goatee (No Homo), not even gonna lie.

Puppy pics are cheating.

Sorry I don’t know about the eHarmony questions but has anyone ever told you that you look like Adam Baldwin (Jayne on Firefly)? The image of Jayne holding puppies has officially made my day.

Damn - you’re onto me!

I haven’t posted an online profile in at least 10 years, and the last one I tried got 0 replies. After reading some of the threads on here about online dating I can tell that I didn’t exactly put my best foot forward in my profile. It seems that there is a list a mile long of do’s and do not’s (mostly do not’s!) with the most innocuous details being the difference between a reply or the trash bin. That’s the whole purpose of this thread - if I’m going to do this I want to make sure I’m not making any rookie mistakes and that I create something that girls will find appealing. If I have to shamelessly promote my puppies, I will!

As for Jayne - nope, never heard that! But if somebody wants to write a ballad about me I’ll post it along with my profile! :stuck_out_tongue:

Bring back the goatee.

Get recent goatee-less pictures taken with better clothes on, but post those too. Dating sites allow multiple pix and showing different sides of you is good.

Last night while I was trying to write up my profile I noticed it lacked heart. I hit the highlights - hobbies, interests, etc - but it felt, and read, like a resume. I need a little inspiration! What are some ways you have seen people spice up their profile that really make them stand out? Both good and bad!

I was thinking the same thing!

Jayne, of course, would be saying “Look, Captain! Fresh meat!”

Now I know what to cook for Kaylee if I can get her to come over!
