What are the most popular names for artificial beings? (Androids, etc.)

…in modern media, film, TV, or literature.

And this isn’t just a “list the names of all the individual robots you can think of” thread. I’m only looking for names that have been used more than once, in different places.

ALL artificial beings—androids; robots; bioroids; genetically engineered lifeforms, etc.—can be referenced for this thread.

For females, the top choices in names seem to be:

  1. Eve (Biblical reference)
    2.Galatea (Greek Mythology reference)
  2. Maria (Metropolis Reference)

For males, “Adam” (Biblical reference; or, more importantly, an Issac Asimov reference) seems to be the only predominant name.

“Max,” as a shortening of “Maximum,” seems to be used for both genders.

Any others that I’ve missed?

Andy/Andrew and Robby/Robert also appear quite often. There have been several Tobors, usually as jokes.

Synthoid/synthetic… mecha, mechanica, or just plain mech… Keanu…

“Republicans”
Ah, c’mon, you knew somebody was going to say that.

Astro Boy.

And, of course, his kid sister robot (yes, she was built to be his “sister”) Uran. “Uran” is Japanese for Uranium.

He also had a “brother” named Cobalt.

“Chip”

To be honest, Adam is really the only male name for an android/whatever I’ve heard used repeatedly. Cain is the quintesential villain name, and I’m sure that’s been used a few times as well, but Adam is the most solid. I don’t really recall any others being used more than once.
