The two lines on the face, running diagonally down from the bottom corners of the nose to the corners of the mouth, must have a name…but what is it?
Colloquially Marionette Lines or Jowl Lines.
I found a picture of Bobby Lowe and Lou Gehrig in a baseball book (two of the earliest players to hit four home runs in a game). The lines on the face of Lowe, who was 38 years older than Gehrig, were very pronounced–and raised.
Yeah, I couldn’t post it as first reply, but I going to just flippantly answer “Old age.”
Back in the eighties, I used to watch a local live quiz show. I will always remember one caller’s answer to this question: “Booger valleys”.
Oh, that would be a sight to see…a disgusting one!
No, marionette or jowl lines are the lines from the corners of the mouth, down to the chin.
I’ve heard those by themselves called ‘drool lines’. They seem to run together with the upper lines in some people. I guess you’re right when you’re talking about just the lines over the mouth.
The Brucii of Willis.
I saw those on “Mr. Bluster” on the Howdy Doody Show.
