What are these small, green egg-like things in my garden?

While messing about in the dirt around our tomato plants, we noticed dozens of green, egg-like objects – soft and smaller than a quarter inch in diameter. My wife thinks they look like the eggs of some lizard-like creature. Any ideas what they might be?

We get lots of big ugly slugs. Do slugs lay eggs?

There’s also a larger one – about three-quarters of an inch across and white – it almost looks like a tiny onion, but it’s not an onion. It doesn’t look like a plant at all.

What kinds of creatures are spawning in our vicinity?

Location would help.

Oh, yes.

Yeappers. That looks like them.
