What are things people share on the SDMB that they probably shouldn't share online?

I once shared a stupid idea a friend of mine had about electric cars generating their power. He thought he had a brand new concept. He was googling the subject and the thread came up, he immediately recognized my handle and was pissed off. He felt I gave away his billion dollar idea. I just laughed it off and told him how stupid his idea really was He got over it.

So in the snapshot are Two people:

One admits that he/she may have done things that they are less than proud of while posting (supposedly) anonymously for some 10 years.
In that ten years, the technology to strip privacy has grown exponentially while protections seem to slip away with each passing Congress.

Number Two weighs the ethics and fiscal gain of blackmail by exposing number One.

Now… Who is the piece of crap in that picture? :dubious:
Hint: Number Two is Always a piece of crap.

Some people talk about their hobbies, for which others do not share the same passion.

I think people who post about having marital affairs (without their spouse’s knowledge) are crazy. I work in family law and when a spouse finds out about an affair, it’s almost always through emails, texts and/or social media postings. Then they have written proof to use as leverage in trial or settlement proceedings.

I am 53 years old and have never smoked pot in my life.

And frankly, I feel like the oddball for admitting that! Pot was EVERYWHERE in the Seventies! I was never part of the party scene, and I still probably saw more than half the guys in my graduating class at high school smoking it.

Nowadays, when a guy my age is asked, “Did you ever smoke weed,” I expect him to say, “Of course. Who (except that weirdo Astorian) didn’t?”
