What are things that are generally considered "sexy" that you find unsexy?

Garter Belts and Garters

I know that this is considered unresistably sexy by a lot of guys, but they do nothing for me at all.

and I’ll agree with those who said “Piercings”

This is only ‘attractive’ according to what I see in the media. Probably doesn’t apply to the population of the SDMB.

Tattoos are ugly. I don’t like tall guys, or guys with big bulging gym-muscles, or guys with very low body fat. I also hate a particular feminine aesthetic (which seems to be on it’s way out in part), which has filtered from porn down to actresses etc: loads of make-up with a mask-like ‘smoky eye’, obvious breast implants, generally too-low body weight for that woman’s frame (evidenced by before she became famous, when she weighed 20 lbs more and looked much better), an emphasis on skinny muscular hips and legs, facial surgery usually including lip and cheek injections and creepy brow and eye work… on young, gorgeous women!

Megan Fox is the poster child for this.

I’ll agree with a lot of these: garter belts and garters, heavy makeup, lingerie, the ‘kissy face’, etc. Also fake eyebrows, and that shiny skin that was being promoted a few years ago, though I’m not sure how shiny people were expected to actually be. It all smacks of trying too hard. I prefer flannel pyjamas or a T-shirt to lingerie anyways.

Another thing I dislike is shaving ‘down there’. A light natural imperfection and hairiness is much nicer. I like my women to look like women, not CGI renderings.

Very short hair on a woman or even worse a buzz cut on a woman.

There’s something wrong when my dates hair is shorter than mine.
Why do woman want to look like guys? I’ll go to a gay bar if I want a male partner.

I have no specific problem with this - done right.
Knew a girl in the Nav who kept her hair shorter than mine. On her, it looked awesome. On many other women..? Not a good idea. The point is to work with what you’ve got, not force yourself into a look that doesn’t suit.

I apparently have pretty vanilla tastes, because I like everything that’s been complained about in this thread except MySpaceFace and really short hair on girls.

French nails
heels in bed
tattoos
body piercings
shaved pubes

I think that overly muscled guys, the ones who look like they have a serious roid problem, are extremely unsexy. Give me tight and toned any day. And while I like some facial hair on most men, the ZZTop beard looks gross to me. I vastly prefer men with little body hair, but it’s obviously not a dealbreaker, as I married a man with a lot of body hair.

I really, really don’t understand why I, as a heterosexual woman, am expected to find other women to be arousing. No, I don’t want to look at some other woman’s tits or pussy. That’s not eye candy for me. I’m not repulsed, but it’s not something that I particularly want to look at, either.

I also don’t get why Brad Pitt is considered sexy.

Could we use the Wayback Machine and move ahead, say 30 years, and have all those folks with tats and body piercings today, get a glimpse of what we are seeing develop right now?

Just so everyone knows, after they’ve determined hell is has become a sheet of frozen tundra and the SDMB adopts animated avatars, I’d make this mine for about a week.

Relax, avatar haters, I’m just kidding… I’d do something far more obnoxious, preferably something that induces seizures; at least in mice and rats.

Another thing:

I like getting blowjobs. I do not like watching other guys getting blowjobs. I do not get aroused watching men have orgasms. Yet 98% of porn has the obligatory blowjob. I keep going to www.noblowjobs.com just in case someone decides to cater to my malfunction.

Big fake tits. Long fake nails. Heavy makeup. Trout lips. An “aren’t I sexy” attitude. Stupidity. The trend of outlining the lipsticked lips with a contrasting color- hate it. Just take a look at the pictures or video of Doug Hutchison and his child bride, and she pretty much exemplifies everything about a woman that I find a turnoff.

OH GOD YES THIS!!!
ok sorry about the all caps, but holy crap this really is a seriously unsexy mood killing ffw the video thing for me.
I like em big and I like em small and anywhere in between, for size I like em all, but i prefer boobs to be real and proportional to the rest of the body

With the right software and skill at using it, you can age a photo pretty realistically. Have at it!

I was working one job with a guy who obviously spent a lot of time in the gym. He was quite unattractive to me physically, and even more so when I got to know him and found out what a jerk he was. Some other women were all, “Oooh, you work with that hunky guy?” and it surprised me - they thought he was incredibly attractive? You can have him - he was completely full of himself.

I suppose a guy who spends more time on his appearance than I do isn’t very sexy to me. I don’t worry too much about it, though, since those kinds of guys wouldn’t be very attracted to someone like me anyway (plus the whole married thing).

Smoking. I know a lot of people admit it’s unhealthy but still find it sexy…I just think it’s silly.

I feel like half-or-so of the responses aren’t generally considered attractive.

I’ll add my vote to heels, of almost any kind. I’m pretty sure they’re generally considered attractive.

Thank you for the BP comment..ugh, he has always turned me off quicker than an red hot poker shoved up my yoohoo. I also agree with body hair and being toned. Anything other than that makes me almost get physically ill. I mean, you look nice until I see the rest of your body that looks like you could kill me by touching me. No thank you.

And women going on women…hrm. I do like women (and men) but totally understand if you don’t. It’s not like I see a woman and say “Mmmm, I’m totally doing that tonight.” I usually think the same as if I see a really nice man, “He looks nice, I like that and that and hrm…maybe not that…”. What I do not like are physically altered women (I work in a business where I see it a lot) and it makes me sad that people feel like they have to do this. If it is for a medical condition that’s one thing; most of the time I hear, “it makes me feel better and my husband/bf/so asked me to…”. WTF? I would drop them like a bag of hot coals, not that I would hold hot coals but you know.

K..end of rant…for now. :stuck_out_tongue:

Another vote against puffy lips and heavy perfume.

Men who have been stripped of body hair. Hey, if you naturally don’t have chest hair, fine, but I hate the shaved look where everything below the nose is completely hairless.

Shaved pubes. Adults have public hair. I only find adults sexy.

Exaggerated muscle and/or extreme low body fat - it’s not in any way normal and I have to wonder if I’ll be competing for his attention with a weight set.
