Andy, dear, I think you mean Steamboat Bill, Jr. Steamboat Willie was, I think, Mickey Mouse. Anyone who loves both Buster and Marilyn is tops on my list! What films are in the Marilyn Collection? Did you see the re-creation they did of Something’s Got to Give, using the existing footage?
I am coveting the complete Variety Obituaries Collection, 1908–84. All 13 volumes cost something like $1,000, though, so I’m not holding my breath.
I’m actually planning on buying the Buster Keaton box set with my next check, as I mentioned to Eve in another thread. She’s probably sick of hearing me talk about it by now. I’ve been coveting it since it came out, too.
I’m also coveting… lessee. A new apartment, I guess. A big dose of happiness and security for a certain friend who could use some in her life right now. And a Titanium Powerbook for me.
I recently purchased 5 acres of land and have my eye on a 2,000 square foot house to put on it. The plans are already picked out, the site is perfect, and all I need now is the $$$ to make it a reality.
Memento: Limited Edition on DVD.
Any usability books by Jakob Nielsen.
A wireless mouse.
The Back To The Future trilogy on DVD…whenever it decides to come out.
The ability to skip the weeks of practice I’ll need on the guitar before I’ll actually be able to play anything.
Whoops, I ought to stay with material possessions.
The Marilyn collection has The Final Days, which has the footage you are speaking of, as well as Bus Stop, How to Marry a Millionaire, There’s No Business Like Show Business, Gentlemen Prefer Blondes, and The Seven Year Itch.
Volume II, which I also sprung for, has Don’t Bother to Knock, Let’s Make Love, Monkey Business, Niagara, and River of No Return.
To round out my collection, I have the special edition of Some Like it Hot.
After I get Buster, I might have to go for a copy of the good version of Nosferatu… we’ll see.
I’m coveting anyone who has a yard with enough space to plant a flower garden (and strawberries!).
My cat is also coveting a yard. He’s getting pretty tired of being cooped up in my studio apartment. When he lived with my parents out in the country, he could prowl about at night.
I’m coveting the time/money my cousin-in-law has to:
get a manicure/pedicure done,
match shoes, purse and jacket,
Do hair and full makeup,
and the ability (or insanity, you pick) to wear white pants around her one year old.
Some of these posters. I was going to buy one or two with the money I made from selling textbooks on ebay. So far, no one’s bought the old books I tried to sell with them.
