My cats got a cat dancer (one of those feathery things that hangs off a string, that they go wild chasing). Every day is Christmas for them around here, they are so spoiled, but the cat dancer was for my amusement too. Their antics crack me up.
You could get him a dozen roses. Seriously. We used to have a pet hare who was inordinately fond of eating roses. Rabbits seem to like sweet stuff, so I imagine any rabbit or hare would react similarly. When we gave roses to our hare, we couldn’t even find the thorns afterword. He probably enjoyed gnawing on those, too.
Yep, we’re waving the white flag. We’ll never convince the dog that the sofa doesn’t belong to her!
(I think this is my 1,000th post. Using it to tell the millions that I can’t keep the dog off the sofa seems so appropriate!)
I’m getting Moe, my cat, some treats and a bag that makes noises. I already game him one of his toys because he got into the bag and started playing with it. It was something you hang on the fridge/door and he destroyed it in a day.
I thought about getting him one of those water pump things but they are pretty pricey.
My kitties are getting two extra-special presents this year:
-
A self-scooping litter box, because I am tired of having to clean up after the little poop machines; and
-
A running water fountain for drinking, because I am tired of them taking a swim in the toilet bowl at 3 a.m. just to get some running water and then jumping into my bed soaking wet.
For their birthday in April, they’re getting a big carpet-covered cat tree, because I am hoping to dislodge them from my new chenille upholstered chair, which the kitties seem to think is theirs.
So, yes, I’m get…er, I mean, the KITTIES are getting some great presents this year.
Oh, and I’m thinking of buying them a bunch of feathers. They tear them out of all the cat toys on the first day anyway.
My cats have stockings, so I’ll put a can of treats (Pounce) and some jingle balls in each one.
We are giving the three dogs a stocking full of toys and treats. The three cats will get catnip and maybe some tuna or leftover turkey or roast depending on what we have. The fun thing will be that Santa is bringing RC cars for my girls and my dad. I think they’ll all have fun with those!

I’m getting my dog a sixpack of kittens for Christmas.
Don’t Pit me, I’m only kidding, honest.
If it’s any consolation, Labdad, I’ve never been able to train my dogs to stay off the couch, either.
The dog gets a kick to the head and the cat gets a BB in his ass!
You, off the lawn! And, You! Off the deck!
Relax, folks, just kidding! Maybe…
Never kiss an animal that can lick its own butt.
Our 3 fur-kids are each getting a tennis-ball toy, and some “fatty” treats. The rest of the year they get low-fat food and treats, because they’re all lard-butts.
Same for all of our friends’ dogs, and their cats get “Cosmic Catnip.”
My kitties already have the drinking fountain we got them. I really want to get them a new cat post for Christmas, but the huge ones I want are too expensive right now. Depending on when we get the taxes finished, they might get one for V-Day in Feb. (unless anyone has SIMPLE directions on how to build one).
They will be receiving lots of kitty treats and we hired a pet sitter while we are on vacation.
A stocking of snacks from the supermarket and anything of the christmas dinner that falls to the kitchen floor. I don’t think Dad’ll allow us to be overly indulgent on our kitties
BTW Does anyone else have cats that *dislike * catnip? We had one that did a while ago, we haven’t bought it since just incase.
Jinx the Cocker Spaniel is getting:
Pig Ears
Rawhide candy cane
Rawhide bunny orniment.
My poor dog Goliath suffers from the problem of having his birthday during the consumer spending season. I don’t know the exact date, but Ziatrice does. I’ve given Goliath the arbitrary birth day of Dec. 18. He’ll be getting some hamburger and a brand new squeeky toy, and hopefully this weekend we’ll get over to a dog park so he can socialize.
Tino, our terrier/lab, is getting a Chuck It, a new frisbee and some sort of puzzle cube thingy. In his stocking, he is getting some treats (sadly, cat treats are his favorite) and some Cheewiez.
I am sure he will get lots of other presents from his grandma and grandpa and his aunt.
For my sister’s dogs, Oliver and Stella, I got a bunch of bones and treats and for Max and Sam, my brother’s ugly cats, I got some toys.
Can you tell, we don’t have many babies in the immediate family (just one) so the pets get all the attention. Sad but true.
Sasserfras (dog) will be getting a new squeak toy. Plus I will get her some meaty bones that I will cook for her. She, of course, gets her own plate for Christmas dinner with all the fixings.
Petite will get some new cage type balls to play with, and turkey hand fed to her.
My pets are VERY spoiled.
All three dogs get a new dog bowl and a new backyard that is about 4 times the size of their current one. We should be closing on our new house this week. Yippee!
Dainty and Grayce, the eight mo. old kitties, will get new collars. I think we’ll go for the pink ones this time. I guess I’ll have to get some plastic tree ornaments in their honour too. Looks like another “glassless” Christmas! (sigh!)
Joe the Rottie doesn’t fit regilar flea collars so he’ll probably get a chew toy.
The rodents, hedgehogs, rabbit, reptiles, birds, anphibian, arachnids and insects will all get an extra big feed of their favorite stuff.
Ya know that line about “Not a creature was stirring”…?
Not around here!!!
Lewie the Yorkie gets his heartworm pills, a bag of food (4lbs of food lasts him 4 months) and a box of Cheerios (his only treat).
He’s thrilled with it all.
