What are you getting your loved ones for Christmas? By loved ones I mean your pets. .

Yeah, we’ll get the cats a toy or a new dish or pillow and wrap it up and put it under the tree.
And they both get a little ham on Christmas too.

Xander will be getting the mother of all catnip-stuffed mice, since he just adores those things (well, if “chews, mauls, and licks into oblivion” = “adores”).

Spike is getting a new collar and an appointment to get “chipped”.

Can you tell who has been naughty this year?

A LASER POINTER!!!

For a seven-month-old kitten. He’s already had quite an effect on our Christmas. We put up the tree, but didn’t bother hanging a single ornament or any lights. Why hang ornaments just to sweep up their shattered remains?

The Gryff (cat) is getting a new water bowl – one of those fountain-type ones. He is the kind of cat that will only drink from a running faucet. It came in the mail the other day, and Mr. Del and I ACTUALLY HAD A DISCUSSION ABOUT WHETHER WE SHOULD GIVE IT TO HIM RIGHT AWAY, OR WAIT UNTIL CHRISTMAS SO IT WOULD SEEM MORE SPECIAL. Yeah.

Also, at one time I saw somewhere on the intraweb a pet site that sold HUGE catnip toys, like stuffed animals as big as the cat. Of course I cannot seem to find this again – anyone happen to know a store that sells them?

This year we are also spending Christmas with my brother’s dog, a golden lab. He is getting a stuffed sock monkey toy, and also a big rawhide toy shaped like a giant candy cane.

Extra hugs, kisses, and I love yous.

Sorry if you wanted more than that, Monstro and Joanna.

Well, I got him a new toy, but I’m also gonna get a few dog yummies. We have a stocking for our pets (although I dunno if we will this year, come to think of it).

malenka the miraculous will get a drinkwell now that she has gotten over her fear of them.

nod the naughty will get a new scratch thing.

winken the wonderfull will get a new tinsel ball.

We give each of our pets a few things. All three cats and four hamsters have their own stockings as well. Let’s see…This year they will be getting:

Stella (cat): A package of fuzzy mice and a pouch of special wet food.

Samantha (cat): A new collar and a fuzzy, pink pig toy.

Zoe (cat): A new collar and a can of Pounce treats.

Nikki (hamster): A cardboard chewing tube.

Moe (hamster): One of those plastic balls they can run around the house in.

Fluffy (hamster): Potty litter. Yes, you can train them to go in an itty-bitty litter box.

Coal (hamster): Veggie-based gnawing treats.

They are all spoiled. I love giving presents. I can’t wait for kids…

Darcy the leopard gecko is going to get her favorite things in the world…crickets!

I let my dogs open all the presents. And they get all sorts of rawhides and special snacks and stuff like that. I figure I owe it to them for making them wear santa hats and reindeer antlers…

We recently found out our cat might be dead by Xmas. (After about $2000 worth of surgery and medication it was determined he has Feline Infectious Peritonitis, which is fatal and incurable.) He’s getting pretty much whatever the hell he wants. His current favorite is Albacore tuna, so against all my ingrained tightwad instincts he’s getting it. (Ok, it was on sale this week for a dollar a can though.)

vouguevixen - I am so sorry to hear that, and wish him many slow mice in the Happy Hunting Grounds when the time comes. You have a good heart.
We have a cute new food bowl with munchies (from Target, I believe) for our 9-yr old Dobie. As for the 3 cats - well, let’s just say it’s not a good idea to put anything under the tree that smells of catnip, and they received their scratchy post thingy early. I’ll get them some goodies, and hide them until X-mas.

For us: a very humane way to deter your cats from the tree - it’s called SSScat, and it’s a can/motion detector that beeps and sprays air. Worth every bit of $60, purchased after the little cat decided that it was oh, so fun to pull the ornaments off the upstairs tree and chase them down the stairs.

Happy Holidays to all our furry friends…

Princess, the 11 # Shih Tzu will get extra loving, an extra mucho dog treat, a “steak” dog treat of two and get to go out for extra walks.

A Happy Holiday Season to you and yours!

“Beware of the Cog”

While out shopping at Costco this week, I grabbed a bag of 25 pig ears for Spunky the Wonder Lhasa. They were beautifully priced, and since I don’t think that they spoil, I may go back and get another bag. That’s a pig ear per week, almost, for a year.

He’s also getting a new bed, since his old one has started to fray and the fiberfill is coming out. I can’t wait to see him snuggled in his bed munching a pig ear. He’s gonna be a happy widdle puppy-uppers, oh yes he is!

I’m not really sure what to get William the rabbit. He’s about four months old, so I was thinking of a new cage or some toys. Perhaps a cardboard box.

Mocha the ancient and venerable is arthritic and so wouldn’t appreciate toys… and has a food allergy so can’t have food treats.

Her gift (if I can get one) will be a laser acupuncture machine so I can treat her at home instead of having to drive her half an hour away to the next town for treatment when we move next year.

Her other gift (the one she won’t appreciate) is that we are moving interstate after christmas. sigh

Ashleigh, Duffy, and Pearl will get a new scratching pad (they have dug a whole in this one), fuzzy mice, cushy balls and catnip… all conditional upon getting that check that is late. If that doesn’t come, then I will be trying to sneak Christmas past them.

Pearl asked for a pawtop so she could check her email whenever she wants to. We’re telling her it’s being held up in customs.

I hope none of them read the dope. :stuck_out_tongue:  :stuck_out_tongue:

Here’s what I want to get lil’ Edith for Christmas, but I’m afraid that a $45 gift for a dog isn’t in the budget this year. Besides, I just saw that it takes 2-3 weeks to ship so I don’t have time. Yay! I don’t have to think about it anymore.

I think what the doggy woggies will get is a super special canned food Christmas lunch, and bows on their heads.

We tried the fountain type water unit for our kitties…and Grissholm (our dog) mauled it. The only form of aggression we have ever seen from the pooch. He’s getting a KONG for x-mas and the kitties are getting a new cat palace…built by yours truly. It goes up to the ceiling in their room, and tracks around a ten foot area…they are the reason we had to get the 5 bedroom home
