What are you paying for a 1 gallon jug of 2% cow’s milk? Not something special like organic that doubles the price. The price is US dollars.
It was $2.98 when I went grocery shopping yesterday.
It’s usually between $2.00 and $2.50 at 7-Eleven or Walgreens out here.
I just paid $2.47 for 1 litre at NoFrills.
$1.69 @ Aldi
I knew it was this craptastic town I live in. They run out of basics in the two stores in this town all the time and the milk is almost up to $3.50 in this central Wisconsin town. I’m going shopping in Madison. They actually have stuff and I bet the milk is around $2.50 like usual.
I feel cheated. I paid 2.50 yesterday at Aldi.
You feel cheated, my wife says that it’s about $7.50 for 4 liters here! That’s Canadian dollars.
At Costco, it’s about $4.10. At Safeway, it’s about $5.00. At the convenience store, it’s around $5.50. That’s in Canadian dollars. Organic is about double that.
Yeah, it’s about 5 and a half bucks a gallon in this part of Canada.
$2.29 at the local 7-11.
$2.69 at 7-11’s competitor.
Over $4 at any of the local supermarkets.
I dunno what one gallon would be. I only buy the quart size which varies between $0.89 and $1.09.
About AU$3 for 3 litres. Which works out at around US$3.30 for a gallon
NZ$5.25 for 3 liters of light blue / 2%… so… that’d make a gallon NZ$6.65… or about US$4.75
Good thing we’re a primary producer / dairy farming country isn’t it?
Akron OH has always had pretty good price competition in the grocery biz. I probably get it for under $2/gal half the time, between $2.00 and $2.49 the other half. Always on sale. Loss leader.
Honolulu - Costco is like $4.13 IIRC (whole, 2%, or skim)
Anywhere else it starts at $4.50 and averages around $5.00.
7-11 about $7 something. That’s the highest I’ve seen it.
I’m somewhat surprised that milk would be so expensive in such a massive dairy producing state.
Here in the Cincinnati area, Kroger’s has them for $2.25/gal.
It all has to do with the Feds supporting milk prices. It’s illogical, I’ll admit. Sugar prices ain’t exactly Kosher either.
I just bought the milk without shopping around in Madison for $2.47 at a higher end store. That’s about a dollar less than my town like I figured it would be.
I also bought two of my favorite ice cream flavor that hasn’t been carried in this town for a year and a half. It was only $2.17 for 1.5 quart container. My town price $3.50 or $5.50 depending on the store. They of course still don’t have the flavor I want so I won’t buy from them regardless of price.
The stores were out of hamburger buns on Thursday and Friday for the 4th of July weekend. They were out of hot dog buns too. I thought I was going to have to bake buns for hamburgers.
It’s the town I live in and the stores. The Walmart brand of butter is currently $4.18 a pound as I looked this afternoon.
