What are your 'core' magazines?

Cite?

Entertainment Weekly
The Economist

Monthly or bi-monthly publications, hence not so core:
No Depression
Paste
Foreign Affairs

EW

Time

World (conservative C’tian weekly news mag)

If I see them in the store-

Biblical Archaeology Today
Charisma & Christian Life
Fate

I believe my record speaks for itself.

Video Watchdog & Vanity Fair are the only two I subscribe to.

Other “core” that I buy:

Esquire
GQ
New York
Town & Country

VCNJ~

[ul]
[li]Time[/li][li]Newsweek[/li][li]Analog[/li][li]Consumer Reports[/li][li]Scientific American[/li][li]Discover*[/li][li]Reader’s Digest*[/li][/ul]

*Still read them every month, but have been meaning to cancel subscription.

Legal Affairs

Baseball America

Entertainment Weekly

Smooth (for the articles)

Cannot live without Vanity Fair, although I miss Alex Shoumatoff so much it hurts.

Conde Nast Traveler

Glamour, Og knows why since I am a less than glamorous person.

Couple of nurse magazines.

Scientific American
Discover
Archaeology
Consumer Reports
Reader’s Digest

I used to subscribe to the the big three science fiction magazines, and someday will get off my ass and start them up again.

Martha Stewart Living
Gourmet

Really the only magazine I eagerly await is Entertainment Weekly.

I am bummed right now because I think I got a letter published in this week’s edition (they sent me an e-mail saying they were considering my letter…) and I didn’t get my copy because of Hurricane Rita!

Entertainment Weekly

and

The Advocate

Scientific American
Juxtapoz
Shonen Jump

Rolling Stone

Sunset
Cuisines et Vins de France

I used to love Gourmet until they changed formats a few years ago. Now the magazine resembles People magazine with recipes, to me.

I also used to get The New Yorker, but that darned rag is cram-packed with good reading and it comes out every week! How’s a body to keep up with it? I gave it up because unread issues started piling up around the house and it’s too expensive to let that happen.

Scientific American
National Geographic
Discover
Flying

I subscribe to:

The New Yorker
The Atlantic
Entertainment Weekly
Cook’s Illustrated
Time Out New York
Juxtapoz

I’m a periodicals librarian, so I don’t subscribe to much at home - just Cook’s Illustrated, which I love with a love beyond dying. But at work I keep up with America (no, I’m not Catholic, I’m not even a theist, it’s just a great thought-provoking magazine), Fine Gardening, Carolina Gardener, Horticulture, National Geographic and, um, UFO Magazine (it’s absolutely hilarious and brightens my day every time.)

Well, then, you are a goddess. The only one I can’t find in the library is The Journal of Lucky Beer Bottle Cap Studies. It’s one of those semiotics things.
