Entertainment Weekly.
Everything (BH&G, Vogue) else is optional.
Entertainment Weekly
The New Yorker
The NY Times Weekly Magazine
That’s about it. I read a ton of others opportunistically - that’s me travelling for business with about 20 mag’s under my arm at the airport…
I am surprised at how little I care about normal news mags - Time, Newsweek or even the Economist. I used to be a junkie, but now I get all that online…
The only two magazines I buy every issue of (and keep) are Skeptic and Skeptical Inquirer.
New Yorker
American Heritage
Newsweek
Magazine of Fantasy and Science Fiction
Sports Illustrated
New York Times magazine.
I’m actually starting a subscription to the New Yorker. I’ve always liked it. Never subscribed.
Used to get National Geo.
Smithsonian and National Geographic. Other magazines come and go, but I keep my subscription to these two no matter what.
The first time I saw Smithsonian was at a boyfriend’s house. One of his roommates read it, and there was a stack of them in the bathroom. I picked up one, and read it from cover to cover. It was the first time that I’d even seen a magazine where every single article in it was of interest to me. I subscribed, and have never looked back.
Oh Sheesh, how could I forget Cook’s Illustrated? I’ll never give up my subscription to that, either.
Skeptical Inquirer
Free Inquiry
National Geographic
Natural History
Scientific American
Food & Wine
Eating Well
Newsweek
Discover*
Skeptical Inquirer
Scientific American
Discover
Outdoor Photographer
Can you prove that this is true? Otherwise I just find it hard to believe.
I suscribe to Smithsonian and Invention & Technology. I occasionally pick up Scientific American.
*Entertainment Weekly
Pregnancy*
I subscribe to both. It’s not a “core” magazine, but I pick up Blender whenever I think of it.

I don’t believe you. :dubious:
Sorry, bad one.
Mine are:
GQ
Bass Guitar
Bass Player
Um, prove which? That I save the magazines? I could post a picture of the shelf in my library that’s bulging with them. Or prove that they are the only two magaizines I buy every issue of? That one I guess you’ll have to take my word for. I do buy other magazines occasionally, when I’m interested in a cover article or something. But those two are the only ones I make a point to always buy, every issue. In other words, they are my core magazines, which is what the thread was about, right?
Wait a second! Why is this so hard to believe?
*Aeroplane Monthly
Air International
Empire
Entertainment Weekly
Fortean Times
Smithsonian
Trains*…
…and I admit it’s an expensive Jones to have, what with all the British titles I read.
Jess, I think you’ve been whooshed. Hard.
Well, duh. Never mind, folks, I’m just a moron. Sheesh.
Good one, guys!

Just kidding.
New Scientist and that’s pretty much it. There are too many books to read to get too caught up in magazines.
I used to subscribe to Scientific American, but I was finding that since it’s a monthly and New Scientist is a weekly, that most of the articles in SA were already covered in NS, and by the time my SA came in the mail, it was mostly old news.
Model Railroader
Model Railroad Craftsman
Christianity Today
I also subscribe to Cooking Light, but I don’t even read the whole issue anymore. I also try to read EW and a newmagazine occasionally, but they are by no means ‘core.’
