The “What D&D character are you” thread links to a test that suggests what character you might be based on your values and responses to hypothetical questions…
Which got me thinking – what if you didn’t have the stats in real life to be the character? Next thought (this really is MPSIMS): based on the best available evidence, what ARE my real-life stats?
Here’s what I got came up with.
STR. 14 (Guess. Average strength male, 6’)
DEX. 13 (Guess. Can juggle. Hit distant targets. Do karate and dance. Normal reflexes)
INT. 18 (Based on GRE percentiles)
WIS. 12 (Guess. Learned many life lessons because of some really dumb choices
CON. 14 (Guess. Never get sick. Don’t get injured or heal especially easily or hard)
CHAR. 16 (Based on Hot or Not feedback. Lame, I know, but curiousity wins every time)
(I note a distinct Lake Wobegone trend here in my self-scoring, so it’s probably a good time to suggest my humility score would be a 19. No, a 20!)
So, how’d you guys do? And anyone wanna suggest got a more objective methodology for arriving at scores?
You know, strength is actually the easiest one to compute, as if you look in the 2nd editions players guide, it showed a number fo rmaximum weight you culd bench press, so just look up that number, and that is your strength! If I remember correctly, mine is an 11 or 12, I;'ve probably gotten stronger last time I checked (when I was 16, I think) so I’ll go with 13.
STR 13 (kinda weak compared to my age.)
DEX 16 (I’m very nimble and quick, I would say.)
CON 16 (also very healthy, not a lot of illnessess over the years)
INT 16 (Going on things like GPA ans SAT scores)
WIS 11 (sometimes I do dumb things, but usually I have common sense)
CHA 17 (I got over a 9 at hotornot.com, and I say I’m pretty friendly)
So I guess thebest class choice for me would be a bard, which is good, because that’s what the test in the thread I started said I would be!
On of my problems is that D&D stats are too broad, for example DEX.
I am really good with my hands and can juggle and stuff. But I am fat and slow and the farthest thing from nimble or agile, SO I split DEX into DEX(actual manual dexterity) and NIM(Nimbleness)
I also will split CHA into ATR(atractiveness, both good looks and/or charm) and TRU(Trustworthyness, Longe term real friend ability)
I will also split CON into END(Phyiscal activity endurance) and TOU(Toughness, ability to withstand pain and not get sick and stuff)
Back when I was younger (and actually went on adventures):
STR. 14 (is that really average? I think it’s high)
DEX. 13 (hard to figure, I’m not coordinated but my reflexes are off the chart)
INT. 18 (IQ on the web test = 135)
WIS. 12 (whatever that means)
CON. 18 (never sick, could walk/run forever)
CHAR. 16 (I was the guitar player in a Rock & Roll band–I always got the chix)
Now that I’m older, things have changed:
STR. 13 (not that much different, I guess)
DEX. 11 (clumsier and reflexes not so great)
INT. 18 (still)
WIS. 18 (at least I hope so :))
CON. 17 (do my aerobics almost every day, and still don’t get sick)
CHAR. 18 (I have added people skills to my previous physical charms)
