Personally I find “Jealous” by Labrinth (released 2014) to be not just a poignant song but a beautifully well-constructed one, and I say that as someone who doesn’t find most of his oeuvre particularly interesting.

According to the world-famous Ponch8 Music Rating System, “All Along the Watchtower” is the best song. Whatever crap Pink Floyd puts out is always dead-ass last.

Without a doubt the finalists are all great songs.
But, as specified in the thread title(s), they’re not favorites of mine. In this poll, as with most of the finals I end up voting for the ones I like slightly better than the others.
That was rough. I hated to leave out Aquarius and Ain’t No Sunshine.
In 1966 California dreamin was #1. 1968 it was Hey Jude.

Hey, I was completely liberated the day I realized that a lot of what I listened to was crap, and yet I still liked it (I’m a complete prostitute for wild production). Around the same time I realized that I didn’t really enjoy a lot of stuff whether or not I understood its artistic value. Sometimes my perspective might change, but no justification is really necessary for not liking stuff. So I just started to listen to anything anyone suggested. Sometimes I love it and it becomes part of what I listen to all the time, sometimes I don’t listen to it much at all. I started with that mindset before the internet had everything available at your fingertips (and I’ll still surf terrestrial radio), but it has really made that pursuit easier, even though it is its own chore.
And yeah, as observed above, time is one hell of a filter. Sometimes our worst is preserved, sometimes historians dig out gems that weren’t appreciated in their time.
Good god, it’s a suck double feature! 
I have a dislike for both of those songs. They’re fine, but I don’t even really see them as good. Heck, I like “Winchester Cathedral”. It went #1. It’s not really good, but I have a yearning for it. Gonna listen to it now.
ETA: Ok, twice in a row. I’m a pervert, but I know exactly what kind of pervert I am.
I can dig “Lil Boo Thang,” by Paul Russell — a current hit. So, there’s hope for me yet.
