What are your favorite workout tracks?

I like to listen to long classic-rock style albums that have some natural storyline and progression. It gives me a feeling of progress during my run.

For example, the following are perfect for a 10 mile run:

Jesus Christ Superstar (either the studio recording or the Broadway show)
The Who - Tommy (either the studio recording or the Broadway show)

The Who - Quadrophenia and Pink Floyd - The Wall are both a little short for a 10 mile run, but they will do in a pinch.

I also like songs that measure out full miles.

Soft Cell - Tainted Love (long version) and Meatloaf - Paradise by the Dashboard Lights are both good for one mile. If I’m trying to get in one more mile, I can cue up Tainted Love and say “All I have to do is make it through this song…”

West End Girls has a good beat and I can step to it.

Good god man! You run a 3 minute mile?

Sad to say, but I have to use the long version (with the Motown song at the end) which is over eight minutes long.

My usual method of exercise is hiking so I like songs that match my walking tempo. Some favorites:

“I Against I” --Massive Attack featuring Mos Def
“Stop The Rock” – Apollo 440
“Top Floor, Bottom Buzzer” --Morphine
“Brick House” – Rob Zombie
“Cherry Pie” – Insane Clown Posse
“Hold Your Head Up” – Argent
“Everybody Loves A Train” – Los Lobos
“Honey White” – Morphine
“Super Sex” – Morphine
“Missing Person” – JJ Cale & Eric Clapton
“Bring It On Home” – Sonny Boy Williamson
“Funhouse” – ICP
“Down With The Clown” – ICP
“Cowboy” – Kid Rock
“Bohemian Like You” – Dandy Warhols
“Tiny Cities Made of Ashes” – Modest Mouse

Hmmm, well that told a lot about my musical tastes!

“I Spy” – Pulp

Now I am confused! I thought it was always Rob Zombie, but when I do a search on it I also get Drowning Pool. So maybe there are 2 versions?
