We’ve had a fox/rat (anyone’s guess) terrier mix since December of 1999. The shelter we adopted her from was calling her Holly, and since it was Christmas time, well, that seemed a perfectly appropriate name.
She’s our only true pet, but we have numerous animals who live in or around or yard that we’ve given names to, including Earl the snake, Fluffy the opossum and Frank the chameleon (anole, really, but pet stores back in New York always sold them as “chameleons” when I was a kid).
White german shepherd: Mitch AKA Mitchell, Bunnyboy, Big-Ears, Mutty-mutt, Dogbreath, Big Dog, Big White Thing.
Rottweiler: Katie AKA Katie-girl, Wiggle-Bum, Mutt-Breath, Little Girl, Little Dog, Little Black and Tan Thing.
