As the birds return to the Northeast, one in particular has me puzzled-it makes a call that sounds like “peabody, peabody”-anyone know which species it is?
White-throated Sparrow. The song is often transliterated as “Old Sam Peabody Peabody Peabody” or “O Sweet Canada Canada Canada.”
