Okay, this is a year late, but thank you!
Chuck Norris.
This was first noticed by two Syrian border guards while walking across the border from Kilis, Turkey (near Gaziantep) to Azaz, Syria (near Aleppo).
Bette Midler. I can see it, too. My face is more angular, but I have a similar nose, mouth/smile, and eye shape, and curly red hair. The first photo on this page is a good likeness.
John Goodman. I got it more when he was alive but I still get it from time to time
John Goodman is dead?
I had no idea. If only there was some way to find out.
When I was in my 30s, people said I looked like Harrison Ford when I took my glasses off. I never could, heh, see it myself, but enough people said it that it must have been true. But as he and I grew older, no one says that anymore.
My father looked nothing like Jack Lemmon until he was in his 60s. Then my old father and an old Jack Lemmon looked a lot alike.
Simon Pegg and once some school kids said I looked like Steve Urkel.
A brunette Amanda Seyfried.
After years of being told that I looked exactly like some guy people knew*, I finally tracked one down. as I’ve related before, I look like political cartoonist (once of the Boston Globe) Paul Szep. So much so that my co-workers once cut out one of those “Dewar’s Profiles” ads with Szep in it, tore off the name, and stuck it on my office door. People came by for weeks asking why Dewar’s did a page about me.
Here’s the ad:
He’s older now, but the similarity’s still there:

He has a larger chin than I do, though.
*These are different people, so they’re referring to different guys who look like me. Evidently there’s an army of CalMeacham lookalikes out there. And they’re mostly not famous.
This thread needs a lot more pics.
I was told I looked like an actor on Chicago Hope. I think they meant this guy.
Several friends used to suggest that I was a close match to tennis pro John McEnroe. I had the bushy hair and I did play tennis in high school but the similarity ends there. We also share an alma mater and while I have the more impressive CV, I think he has the edge in celebrity status and gross income.
She has a picture in the picture thread. Don’t tell anyone. Hard to tell from just a couple of static pictures but I don’t see a resemblance to either. But of course she is very attractive.
They certainly have a geek aura but that is an oddly wide range in looks.
When I was in my 20’s, I was often told that I reminded people of Jack Nicholson, or John Cleese, or Steve Martin. Not sure if it was looks or behavior but either way I never saw it myself. Nowadays people just tell me I look like my dad.
When I was a teenager, a lot of people called me Gilligan despite my protests. Too many people for me to think it was a fluke. In my early fifties I grew my hair out and everyone started calling me ‘the Dude.’ Never was a fan of Jeff Bridges so that wasn’t exactly the look I was going for either. These days nobody says anything about my looks, which probably isn’t a good sign.
Hey that’s a good one! Definitely some resemblance there. Do you ever say, “A root-doot-doot-da-doo” ?
People always seem to think that someone black can’t have a resemblance to someone white. Or Asian, whatever.
Kind of ridiculous. Of course there can be plenty of points of similarity even if skin color is different.
I have an acquaintance, someone I see a couple of times a year in the course of volunteer work, who is an absolute dead ringer for Scarlett Johanson (am I spelling that right?). Except that she’s a black woman. But the resemblance is so strong as to be shocking.
Oops - forgot the smiley!
I have not been told I look like any celeb in about five years!
