To steer the conversation back to restaurants for a moment, the local IHOP restaraunts had buckwheat pancakes at least up until last summer. Which is the last time I ate at one and in fact had said buckwheat pancakes. They must have been passable if not very memorable.
Last March I ate in an IHOP for the 1st time in years (decades?). I never was a fan of buckwheat cakes, but they had something called Harvest Grain and Nut cakes. To my palate, they were amazing. I’ve made acceptable replicas at home, using all varieties of oatmeal/grains/seeds/nuts. Yum!
Haven’t been to IHOP in a while, the local restaurants in that chain sorta suck imho so I don’t go often. Harvest Grain eh? Well ok then. Maybe I’ll find myself eating there sometime before they change the menu again and give those a try
