What classic games would make interesting and/or humorously terrible movies?

How about ‘Zero Wing’?

sample script:-

  • In A.D. 2101
    War was beginning.
    Captain: What happen ?
Mechanic: Somebody set up us the bomb.
    Operator: We get signal.

    Operator: Main screen turn on.
    Captain: It’s You !!
Cats: How are you gentlemen !!
Cats: All your base are belong to us.
Cats: You are on the way to destruction.
    Captain: What you say !!
Cats: You have no chance to survive make your time.
Cats: HA HA HA HA …
Captain: Take off every ‘zig’ !!
Captain: You know what you doing.
    Captain: Move ‘zig’.
    Captain: For great justice.
    THE END

Street Fighter 2.

Oh, wait… :smack:

Gee. Nobody’s mentioned Tetris or Centipede yet…

There has already been a Tetris movie.

You suck.

Well, they already made a movie out of Twister . . .

Anamorphic mentioned Centipede.

[sub]Yes, yes, I know. I suck too.[/sub]

I’m not surprised. Can you provide a link on this? I didn’t see any information on IMDB about any sort of Pac-Man movie.

Sim City: You would… uh… Well, theres um…

Although I have to admit The Sims would make some interesting footage.

Bare Knuckes aka Street of Rages - Three police officials suspect corrpution in the rank and take to the streets fighting off waves of mindless punks and finally confronting Mr. X!

Space Invaders - Never-ending waves of aliens are storming the Earth! How long could the hero last with his puny ship and four defense bases?

Rogue - All you see is @ and O

…and it was indeed humorously terrible. Except for the “humorous” part.

Dig Dug.
Breakout.

Yar’s Revenge would be interesting. A movie about a giant space fly whose enemies are a swirl and a tiny rectangle! Just imagine!

Dungeons & Dragons

the Castlevania series has a greta ongoing storyline, ripe with sequel potential! casting: any unknown babyface for the male lead, Willam DeFoe (DaFoe?) as Dracula.

I second Metroid. casting: Natasha Henstrigdtehcte as Samus Aran, John Leguizamo as the voice of Mother Brain (too lazy to look up these name spellings).

Mail Order Monsters (look it up, it’s a C=64 game). casting: doesn’t matter - bunch of guys in rubber monster suits.

I would prefer Doom to Wolfenstein but forget Arnold… he jumped the shark about 10 years ago. Maybe Vin Diesel.

greta = great

ummm, guys I think the OP said classic games. Some of these are fairly recent.

I can’t believe someone didn’t beat me to this, but I nominate Zork. That would be awesome.

I’m gonna agree with an early post and say I would love to see a Prince of Persia movie.

Seconded.

How 'bout Frogger?

A handsome, rugged James Bond type leaps onto a moving train and slowly starts moving along the top. Then, suddenly, he is spotted by a guard from some unnamed eastern european country. The alarm is sounded and the battle is on!

Our hero lashes out with his hand knife and kills one, two, three of the guards and yet they keep coming. Still he slashes away, killing hundreds. The train stops and our hero jumps off into an evil training camp. Still armed with only his knife, the slaughter continues.

On and on he battles. Slaying thousands of flat-faced guards in trenchcoats who only seem to move faster and arrive in greater numbers as the movie continues.

Oh, the epic that Rush ‘N’ Attack would be.

Mr. Do’s Castle starring Erik Estrada as Mr. do

Kid Icarus starring mini-me

Golden Axe …too many casting choices for this one.

Galaga with Colin Farrell as the ship’s super pilot.
