40 year old male.
I know not everyone likes this vehicle and it’s impracticality and it’s made many people’s list of ugly vehicles but I’m not looking for opinions on that.
Just wondering what color appeals to you the most.
(if you still feel like commenting on your dislike of this vehicle, well, hey, it’s a free country)
Yellow.
Someone at my workplace has a yellow one and it looks striking. Much better than blah silver cars that are everywhere these days.
I support brick, yellow, and green equally. If I were choosing for my own self I like green the best, but yellow would be fun, too.
Black , white or silver would be bo-o-o-o-ring
I hate the look of yellow and orange vehicles. They always remind me of Tonka Trucks.
I like the black, grey and Forest green. Black and Grey are the most dignified, green is more fun without being plastic-y.
If resale value is a consideration, then I’d go with black or grey.
[/Rant] Whatever happened to blue cars? All my life I’ve wanted a navy blue vehicle with a dark grey interior, and the vehicles I look at never come in that combination. Argh! If there is a blue, it’s either a baby blue metallic that looks like a toddler would drive it. or an obnoxiously bright royal blue which goes back to the plastic toy look. [\rant]
I voted for Yellow and be sure to get the grill badge that says TONKA to replace the one that says TOYOTA.
I’m totally serious.
Unclviny
They used to make a robin’s egg blue color that I liked a lot, but it looks like they don’t offer it any more.
I like Blacks and blues more so, and the Green my other fav. colors in cars just looks weird on this one.
So if you’re not in a very hot area or such, go w/ Black.
Why’d they stop making the blue? That’s the color I’d pick. I chose white in your poll - I’ve seen a white FJ on the road and it looks nice. The yellow is nice too.
So that’s what that thing is. I’ve only seen one once. I’d go with the red or green as both look pretty sharp.
Anyone who thinks it’s ugly should check out the new Nissan Cube. Now there’s an odd looking car…
Probably because this became a minor meme in some circles.
Yellow first choice, Red second choice.
Decide how much work you want to put into it. Usually some of the most striking colors are the most difficult to keep that way. I have a bright blue car and it looks amazing when it has just been washed. Unfortunately it also shows water spots and road dirt worse than “bland” colors like white etc. Everyone I know with a black car says the same thing.
So, if you want to go low maintanence go with a light color. If you want to be striking but have to work to keep it that way go with a black or other strong color. I don’t really have any experience with it, but the bright yellow may just be the best of both worlds.
Black if, like Spud said, you don’t mind putting in extra work to keep it clean. Otherwise I’d go with the green.
Don’t pick yellow, it’s already an ugly car (sorry but it’s true) - no need to make it uglier and stick out more.
For some reason, I like this vehicle. Stealth Yellow.
Yellow: It’s the only color that isn’t dark and boring. And it looks good with the black interior.
Ideally, I’d get it repainted something like a bright blue, orange, or even a lighter green or red. The yellow is just too popular, and, as others have mentioned, toylike.
I like white cars. Probably because it’s so hot here during the summer. I like the way they look too, and they’re not so hard to keep looking nice. I had a white 4-runner that was very nice looking, I think.
Are you actually going to use it off-road a lot? White doesn’t show the scratches so much if you do. Yellow sure is pretty though. The FJ is one of the only vehicles of that type that I actually like; it reminds me of the old Landcruisers, and those sure make neat hunting and four-wheeling vehicles now. I could see outfitting one like a Jeep, for real work. After it depreciates, of course. And if it holds up to that kind of use.
I like this one.
What? Oh, I immediately thought of the Holden FJ. “The Newcastle Song” keeps going through my head.
Of all those uninspiring colours, including a horribly ugly green, I’d choose the yellow.
Or another car.
Brick. That way you have a communion of form and color.
