What color is that woman's dress?

I may be behind the times on this and it may be old hat to most of you, but I was just sent an email containing what appeared to be a clip from some sort of magic competition in front of a studio audience and a panel of four or five judges. (My new year’s resolution this year was to learn how to establish a link, but I haven’t done it yet.) In the clip the magician repeatedly waves a cloth in front of his assistant and in the time it takes the cloth to pass her body she has changed her outfit. I’ve watched this many times now and I don’t have a clue as to how the trick is performed. To any of you who have seen it, any ideas?

Not sure if this is the same one, but “Quick Change Artists” from America’s Got Talent.

edt–Also at some point that woman went from brunette to blond.

Here’s another explanation, probably simpler.

At 60 seconds into that video you can see the new dress fall over the one she is wearing. There is also a lot of bulk to the dresses. My guess is that she is wearing a specially-constructed dress that has all of the dresses built into the top. At each change she releases the top of the dress and it falls to become the bottom of the new dress and revealing the new top.

Yes, that’s the one.

The first two or three changes, she takes the dress off completely,(velcro is magic) revealing a new dress underneath. The rest, what Gus said.

You’ll notice the dresses get shorter and shorter at first. These are the dresses she is removing completely. Then each dress get progressively longer. These are the ‘dresses’ that she is pulling down the tops of.

Which one accounts for her changing hair color?

A wig.

Why she does a hand stand of course…

Also notice the difference in the way the changes are done. In the beginning, when she strips away outfits the floor is concealed so that you can’t see them dropping at her feet. Later her feet are revealed but her top is covered. When the guy changes, his feet are again concealed so you don’t see the tuxedo falling from him.
