Maroon with a black vinyl roof. Oldie but goodie.
Close to sky-blue Ford Tempo. Very good acceleration. However, my moms car, a white Dodge Shadow, puts it to shame.
Sounds like my car- 1993 red Suzuki swift- looks just like the metro ya know, but it’s MUCH cooler.
I run the poor thing into the ground, put $5 worth of gas in it and it’s almost full, even at $1.49 a gallon. Insurance is cheap, and it’s a stick shift. I’ve actually only had it since April/May because I used to drive a company car(ooh- I do miss the 2000 Accord) but for reasons beyond my control it had to be given back. Daddy found me this one and I love it. Really. And it has a/c so I don’t die in the summer GA heat and humidity.
And it does go fast. I love it when I beat some fancy schmancy new car at the lights when I know they want to get past me. Hehe there’s a light near my apartment that this always happens at because one of the left turn lanes becomes a left turn only lane right after you turn. I like to get into that lane and punch it past the viper that my neighbor drives.

Of course it’s much cooler. My car is only cool to people who have ladybug fetishes.
(For those who are not aware - a red Geo Metro hatchback looks exactly like a gigantic mutant ladybug)
Do you have the Suzuki Swift turbo? If not, sorry, your car doesn’t go fast. You just get a better start than the other people at the stoplight. They just aren’t trying.
I drive a 1990 Cavalier Z24. I LOVE my car. 3.1L V6. And it’s a fairly small car.
The only thing I would change is to make it a stick shift. As is, it’s a 3 spd auto.

GT model all the way baby.
GT model? Well there ya go, then! You git on wit cho bad self.
My dad drove a 90 Metro, blue, 5 spd, 1.1 3 cylinder for YEARS. Hell, I learned to drive a stick on that beast.
I think I hit 45 once, on a downhill stretch.

I used to have a Chevy Sprint, and then a Chevy Sprint Metro. I drove one of them from L.A. to Utah, and went about 90 most of the way (that was about as fast as it would go). The Sprints were very reliable, even though I pounded the hell out of their little 1.0 litre 3-banger engines. They also seemed to have a bizzare 4th-dinemsional quality to them, as they seemed to have more room inside than they had outside. Interestingly, when I dropped the Sprint from my insurance and added the Porsche 911SC, the insurance premium went down!
I just got a new car! (Well, new to me)
Want to guess the color? (Hint: It does go faster!)
I drive a deep red '85 Thunderbird Turbo Coupe.
She hates to be driven slowly so I try to indulge her whenever possible.
I had a deep red '85 Thunderbird Turbo Coupe.
When I repainted it red, it ran a lot better and faster.
I think there’s steroids in red paint.
I don’t drive. But if I ever had a car, I’d choose white. I don’t know why, I just like white.
I dimly recall an article some years ago in one of those authoritative magazines like Reader’s Digest or Parade, which listed average speeds measured by police radar, broken down by car color. White cars were driven at the highest average speeds; red was second or third.
The mix may be different in Texas. From my experience, the fastest vehicles on the road tended to be black, full-sized Chevy pickups, usually seen blasting past on the right shoulder of the freeway. Straw cowboy hat on driver optional.
I’ve got a four-cylinder Ford Ranger. It’s red but that doesn’t help much. Thing doesn’t acclerate, it gathers speed.
Of all the things to delurk me! Oh, well, here goes . . . I was always told that red cars cost you more in insurance because the type of people who buy red cars drive fast. Thus, I was smart, and got an incredibly cool black car, ('99 Honda Civic, 2 door, fully loaded, stick shift), and my baby is very fast!
Bluish-purplish-metallic-kinda Cadillac Deville. I didn’t like it at first, but now I do.
Toyota Supra Turbo. Yeah, I guess the acceleration is ok
Oh, and it’s red, too, but it was inherited, so don’t blame me. It definitely goes faster than my charcoal gray Accord and my blue Ranger.
My bike is red, and its faster than my old blue bike.
I have never heard of an insurance company asking what color car you drive.
BTW, I own a red '93 Ford Probe and dream of the day I can get rid of it.
I have a “victory red” 1967 Chevelle Malibu SS. I’m not sure just how fast it is capable of going, but it sure gives me the need to for speed. I’ve gotten it up to 110mph, but had to slow down because it felt like I was about to fly away. Old cars are not very aerodynamic.
**Jeez Louize, forget about following up with a post, how the heck do I pronounce your UserName?!?!?!? **
